Plecter Labs
« on: October 19, 2006, 10:57:14 AM »

I was wondering who on this site has used Plecter Labs driver and sound board. Im thinking about converting to a luxeon mainly because Plecter Labs has a sound board that uses a sd card where I can upload my own saber sounds.
Plus their driver has the shimmer effect and clash and lock which is pretty cool.

So if you folks have any info on the products that Erv offers please chime in and let me know what your thoughts are.

                                                                                         Thanks,
                                                                                             Pianoman

Hi pianoman, you should talk to hyperdyne about that ,that sounds similar to the boards he uses on his hyper blades
sig removed, ...animation not allowed

Hyper has great stuff, but its way out of my price range. The stuff the Erv offers is not as intense as Hyper, therefore the price isn't as intense too.

Yeah, pretty much it goes that hyperdyne sabers are top of the line, only for hardcore saber lovers that have a lot of cash to spend.

I do hope everyone noticed all the Plecter labs stuff is in Euros ::)

When you convert it to US dollars as far as I can tell it's rather close in cost because
you would want to get their fully assembled ready to go piece that has the boards
all pre-wired together.
You need the;
Driver-
Dimmer-
Sound board-
Battery-
assembly.

Untill there is a US distributor this would be the wisest decision because the tech support
would be difficult and pricy for sending things back and forth if you have problems.

Just my 2 cents ;)
But we are anxious to see the results of anyones projects so keep us informed :)

Are there many sound hardware options for custom sabers?

No.

Hyper is the only one that offers a sound option for led-strip sabers. Although you have to use his driver.
Plecter Labs offers for luxeon sabers a sound board with an micro SD card where the user can upload diffrent saber sounds and can modify it to his liking. And agian you have to use his driver.

I am having a Plecter Labs sith saber built.
They are NOT cheap though about $400
But the sd card sounds, clash and pulse effect looks awesome.
I will keep the board updated .

Those vids look fantastic, Kit.   :o  Is that the Sith saber you have ordered? ***Turns green with envy***

The motion sensors appear to be a lot more accurate than the MR ones that I am used to.
Would these electronics fit in a Ultra stunt? I would love to get a stunt saber and fit these sound boards and driver.

They look incredible,

How does the new film compare to ultras fibre optic?

Those hilts look enormous, are they fx's (Anakin AOTC etc) or are the plecter ones that big?
