Another question while I'm here, as I wasn't in on the first run I'm not sure how it went down. Are the hilts numbered at all? I noticed the display stands were last time, is it both that will be numbered? Also, is the order posted our number? Just curious :)
The hilts are, indeed, numbered ;D. The numbers are imprinted on the side of one of the grip strips and then anodized. You have to be looking for it to see it :). This keeps the hilt accurate, but still numbered for that extra special touch :D.

We are testing several speaker options right now. There are several new speakers being tested, (mostly 2W+), one of which is the one JQ sourced, as well as a few others. We will select the best one for this build :).

Ok, update here:
There has been a delay in the run. Now before you throw your hands up, this delay was for a VERY positive reason :D Now we can't spoil the surprise just yet, but rest assured when we can announce it, there will be celebration in the galaxy!
The other thing is that we've heard the call for a better battery solution. We have been working on a redesign of the chassis that will allow for better batteries as well as the newer 2W speakers. Now, I don't want to get 40 PM's asking what batteries they're going to be. As soon as it's 100%, we'll let you know, and NO they're not going to be 18650s :D We want a Starkiller, not a Star Destroyer :D
This will be, the absolute most awesome Starkiller ever. I promise. Since it will probably be the last run of them for a long while, they're going to be something truly marvelous!
Also, to whet your appetite, if you thought the first Starkiller stands were cool, wait 'til you see the new ones! ;D

I'd like to get all choices finalized fairly soon, but as we are still in the machining phase, you have some time. Keep in mind that you will be able to use RICE™ to configure the colors any way you want afterwards in any event. As long as you select a multi-die LEDEngin you can have a different color for each font and a different color for each FoC™ as a DIY once your saber is in hand :D.

Are we going to have more options if we choose an RGBA or RGBW? What would you miss out on if you picked one over the other with colour mixing? Sorry if there's too many to list :P
Wait, so with the V6, can you have a purple blade with a matching purple FoC? And if so, would that affect brightness any compared to purple with no FoC at all, which is what I chose initially?

Ok, I just pee'd a little...
I'm not very bright when it comes to LEDs.
Is there anyway to get red, sky blue, green? Or at least red and sky blue. Or if not s/blue, blue.
This is cool. I LOVE the idea of the RGP crystal chamber. That makes it so awesome. I had a tough time deciding between Sky Blue and OSPP. Now I don't have to. I'm already set up for an RGGB w/ Sky Blue. So that can easily be converted to OSPP later by using the RGB dies on the LED. And the other G for FoC? If that works out that's what I'd like. I do have two other questions however. Given the color changing properties, are the crystals going to be clear quartz now vs aqua aura or Amethyst for example? And the accents on the bottom of the sabers might need to be more "neutral" too. Maybe a coppor colored one or something like Yoda uses on his ROTS Graflex buttons.
Anyhow, so the RGGB will let me go to OSPP or Skyblue with a green mixed FoC? That's what I'll stick with :)

Yes, that is how we would wire it :). The GG to the main channel so it could get up to 2-3A (1-1.5 per die), and the R and B to the daughter board which will also each receive 1.5.

I'm gonna stick with the original choice of OSPP with no FoC. Having a brighter, perfectly colored purple blade, courtesy of the V6, will be a treat in and of itself.
How long before we need to make a final decision on our LED choice? Well, I've been gone for quite a while...
After being a way for a good few months or so, I log on to find this! :o I can't decide what I want. I've ALWAYS wanted an OSPP saber, yet I want my Starkiller to be the ultimate red it can. (I'm a perfectionist, if it's in the game/movies or anything, I want it like that :D)
Now, I'm not the smartest when it comes to LEDs...actually, I'm not smart at all about LEDs. I know virtually nothing about them. Just the colors. I'm so indecisive about this it's unreal. I want to play around on the color changing, but then I want my saber to be a deep red. Anyone want to help me make up my mind? ;D

I'm going RGGB on mine for sure now. Formally RRRR Full Powah but my 5 year old literally got into TFU during the time this run started and has made it clear it has to be color-changing. Who am i to argue with a 5-year old? :D Especially since he'll be six by the time this baby arrives. Too bad they don't make at least an RRBG for a strong red (hoping the quad rebels test well enough to include in this run?)
Oh, and we haven't decided what we are doing with the glass eye. I am thinking we will probably choose a stone or substance that is more neutral much like an actual glass eye since the majority of these sabers will be color changing sabers :). However, we have not made a final decision.

How about a shine through glass eye... so the emitter color is visible.
I've seen this on some Graflex sabers.

Unfortunately the placement doesn't work as these aren't set up quite the same way as a Graflex internally.

Go back and look at the picture above the "Count" and count ;) You'll note there are 30....not 25 of several core components. One would surmise that there are 30 total being made. After all, accidents can happen so there had to be a couple of extra :) And since the picture is there for all to see, its not like I'm revealing a secret. And the assembled one perhaps as well?

Hilts should be arriving Monday. It will take us a week or two just to sort and get everything planned. We need to test LEDs, make a final determination on which LED we are using and then order them. Once they arrive installs will start. There may be one or two that ship by the end of the year depending on how quick the LEDs come, but most will be Jan.-Mar. (keep in mind there are a lot of installs and only two of us and we have other builds going on concurrently :D).l
i actually preffer tris ove the ledengin now after having 2 of my sabers upgraded to tri rebel/cree from 10W i can say i will probly ditch the led engin

a mate of mine has a color mixed saber using a tri reble and its a lovely shade of purple
i got a solid blue in my anakin graflex which is another great bright vibrant blue and my imperial knight has an amber tri reble which performs better than the 10W AAAA did

Been meaning to ask.... Why are some of the names in the OP in different colors and others in white?
OK Starkiller Peeps! PLEASE check the first post. Again :P. Make sure that what you see there is correct. Orange and White names are CF customers. Orange names are V6 with NO CeX, meaning no color changing. Just a single color blade. White names all have color changing sabers. Teal names are PC customers so, of course, no color changing.
I'm at a bit of a loss as to how to phrase this without coming across too much like a jerk:
Time to get a little tougher SK. If a customer says they are able to go forward on your 7 day notice and then flake on payment, barring a death or something, the saber should be be put up for auction. People around here would be foaming at the mouth to pick up a saber from VV.

i have to agree with GreyJedi. i know its not a nice thing to say but its true. there are some of us out there who are just itching to get their hands on one of those beautiful works of art. one should be honored to even own one.

Also, I think a written and signed agreement among run or even regular non run customers isn't out of line. I run my business like that, and when there's an contractual agreement in the loop things are taken much more seriously. Protects both parties.
I know we all feel like a family, but business is business. JohhnyXsaberfan isn't going to jump in and pay for the family crisis out of the kindness of his heart, but he'll do what he's contractually obligated to or lose his dough... you can count on that. ^_^
On a side note, as someone who HAS received his saber from this run, and had a HUGE favor dealt with the timing of the whole affair so I could get it signed (a once in a lifetime chance), I can attest to the quality you all are waiting for. It's also well WORTH THE WAIT. ^_^

If it's the same as a run1, undo the Velcro strap and slide the CF to the side with the speaker connections/SD card.It is different. There is no velcro strap. I don't have it with me at work to take a picture, but there is a metal rod connecting the speaker case to the top section of the hilt and the pressure between that and the batteries and wiring beneath is holding it in place.
mine just slides to the side. takes a firm push, but nothing hard enough to be worried about. I still have to tweak my fonts. I built up my courage and removed the SD card.
I was able to now shorten the boot2.wav (Vader breathing and walking sound) for bank6. On my saber (which I assume all are the same) the boot2.wav had about 8 seconds of silence after the boot sound finished.
When I first got my saber and accessed bank6 (Call of Rage) the first boot sound selected was boot2.wav. When the sound ended, I tried to turn on the saber and it would not turn on. I had a few previous out of the box fails and I feared this was another. Instead I just had to wait for the 8 seconds of silence to finish playing.
Has anyone noticed that the force2 file seems cut off on the General Kota font?
He says, "Don't let them gain any gr," and then it ends. Playing the file on the computer is, "Don't let them gain any ground," followed by several seconds of sound effects.
I cannot figure what could be terminating the clip early on the saber.
