Greetings - For those who have enjoyed some of the past korbanth saber runs... alot have asked what is next up...and how or when will the runs begin. So I wanted to share with you, but first off - if your worried that the runs will get announced, and you'll not know about it, then please click here - Subscribe to our Newsletters (http://www.korbanth.com/signup/)
This is a way for me to see who wants to know what, where and when....signing up doesnt obligate you to any purchase, but I can use it to email you to tell you all the good details, so you'll never miss out on a new saber opportunity
The runs were doing this year are -

Sid 2.0 (but this will be exclusive and it will be FREE) - more explained on how to get one FREE

2017 run will consist of

2018 will have DUKE 2.0 and 2-3 new ones.

Yeah, I believe it will be something like that. I'd love to get a free Sid but, if there's only one thing that I learned in life, is that "There is no such thing as a free lunch".

It's a 7/8" ID so the 28mm bass speaker will not work.

Say, is there an acronym translation table somewhere on this site? Some of the terms are easy to figure out, but some of the model number abbreviations and names are as clear as mud when you're still figuring things out. :(
(ex: what is Sid? And maybe an explanation of which saber is which, for the whole Korbanth lineup?)

When the picture is there I don't need to wonder which one is being discussed. ;)
But yes, this is helpful. "Sidious" didn't occur to me for some reason. And the Ep # didn't either. So now I understand the story behind DV6 (I know what MPP is, fortunately!).

yes, this year, Sid 2.0, Crossguard 2.0 and LS6-Reveal-Gullwing are the 3 sabers of the year...if there was an award for best new released sabers, these 3 would be fighting each other to be it....3 way tie.
Each year, my sources do better...they design specs better, we get our china manufactoring better, we get build times faster, Q&A is improved, but it still takes time to make a good product, and this hobby of ours is always been patience first, reward second. I appreciate all that stick with me...

I'm interested. Will the new LS6 be install friendly-meaning will it have at least a 1" ID? I was able to install the last LS6, but it was a struggle.

the new Crossguard 2.0 saber is going to be 1 inch main blade and 3/4 inch side blades, and is $250 for it. The side pieces will be straight, and it will have the familiar damage and wires on the side....
the new LS6-Reveal-Gullwing saber is also going to be 1 inch blade, and is $250 for it - it will come with both V1 Hero activation box, that has gull wing doors that open up on the bottom for a crystal reveal chamber as well as pulls apart for reveal chamber. Saber also comes with the Clamp for those who want to make V2 and V2 stunt model...
the new Sid 2.0 saber will have screw on emitter and made just slightly bigger to accomodate electronics/sound boards better, but it wont be so much larger that you'll not be pleased, but this saber is harder to balance between accuracy and installability, so it might be hard to have both exactly the way we want. As you guessed, the SID 2.0 saber will not be for sale...it will be given away to any customers who purchase a crossguard 2.0 and a LS6-Reveal, or 2 LS6, or 2 Crossguard 2.0 sabers.. I know some will just want the sid, but my supplier is giving these to me for free to be given away for those that do the preorder on the two new ones. The purpose on the free saber, is to make sure we get enough pre-orders on the two new ones to make sure the run becomes 100% GREEN LIGHT - I will have enough sids to make sure everyone will get one who buys the 2 sabers. Maybe you dont want one of the two, but you've found a friend who will go in with you, so maybe you can buy two of the same and you can flip a coin over who gets the free one. Also look at this deal this way - 3 installable sabers for $500 means $166 a saber....how can that deal be beat. IF you dont want your SID, you can sell your FREE SLOT as you wish...so there will be enough for all.
As soon as I have firm information on these - I will post - those that sign up at Subscribe to our Newsletters (http://www.korbanth.com/signup) will get first crack at purchasing, immediately, and all 3 of these will be ready around late September to October time frame.

Well, I found about the saber community almost 2 years ago (So, still relatively new) and didn't think he had trouble gathering the minimum quorum for 2016 runs. I didn't want a crossguard and neither a second LS6 but, since I was willing to pay for a Sid anyway, I'm sure it won't be hard to find what to do with the third saber.
It's not a bad deal. Not at all. I just hope they continue being awesome!

I've not really been a fan of the LS6 but the Gullwing reveal interests me. I'm curious, was the OT a 7/8 or a 1 inch blade for this saber?
I'm in need of a green trilogy saber to go with my 2 blues and 1 red.

TCSS sell 3/4" round tips, and 3/4" blade stock. If there is enough demand they may restock the 3/4" pointed tips

You would have to buy two sabers to get the Sid. I wish I could take up that offer but even if I sell the LS6 and Crossguard in October I would still be out $500 for 6 months which isn't doable for me. Lol I shouldn't even consider a saber purchase in the first place, I'm so broke. :embarrassed:

I'm curious, why is the LS6 only with a 1 inch blade holder. Wasn't 7/8 more accurate?

I can see people messaging eachother asking if they'd pair up buying a LS6 and crossguard to get a hold of a Sid saber. It could get quite messey!

no, but they will be for sale in about 3-4 weeks, they are machined aluminum saber stands with a removable plaque and these will fit most all saber handles. Price is $40.00 - but being they are made of machined metal, they really are much better than a $20-25 plastic saber stand -

There is really no much to update yet, the machine shop is doing whatever it needs to do to be able to prototype all the parts in the 3 new sabers, and then they will make a working prototype to send me so I can see if any changes need to get made, these sabers (or at least a few of them) are a little more complicated than some of the previous..lot more working parts than before.
I will be sending out a HUGE announcement though on Friday July 14 - all good, but want to save the surprise for that email...
right now, its very slow...the STAR WARS Excitement is kinda low...but I think it will pick up July 14th, I heard some things....so it will be a good time to be a fan.

Somebody correct me if Im wrong,but I could swear I read somewhere that the crystal chamber area comes out for those wanting to add electronics. BTW:I never did get the email.I signed up for newsletter a few weeks back,but never got anything.Oh well.Hopefully Korbanth will post it up here

I'm looking at the e-mail with the photos now and the first photo we see of the crystal insert doesn't have any pommel attached. He also mentions in his description "If you plan to add electronics to your hilt, with sound board and blades, you can easily remove pommel and pull out these light up add on's". Doesn't seem to make much sense to make the crystal chambers permanently attached to the pommel if they need to be removed to add electronics.

those pics of the crystal chamber are not final or complete images, you can open bottom of both crossguard 2.0 and LS6-reveal-gullwing and insert both chambers into the saber and its magnetized so it holds nicely...but if you dont want it in there, you can pull it out and put on the original end cap...so do not worry, it is being designed to work perfectly, just have faith in me...I will have a prototype early September
my big news or announcement was just that the crossguard and LS6 now comes with a free light up working crystal chassis -
yes, I dont think you can add light up features, sound board and blade while using the crystal chassis, so many will not use it, but hey its free so its your choice...
I know some people will find it quite challenging to TRY to make the saber have electronics, sound board, blade and try to keep the crystal chassis in, and I am not saying it can be done, and not saying it cant be done, but I truely think someone creative will find a way.

An accurate size mace windu would be amazing it's probably the only saber left that has not had true justice done to it,
The original korbanth mace was awesome just far too small to the actual saber, however the finish was beautiful

Nice! Well thus far Ive bought several of your hilts,including 2 of each of the LS6 & CG 2.0. So you can count me in for 2 StarKillers and possibly the AOTC Ani and MW3 2.0

Would definitely be interested in all 4 of the new ideas: Duke, Mace, AOTC Ani and StarKiller. For anyone who hasn't gotten a SithPlanet saber kit, I've gotten several over the years and Randy always outdoes himself on quality, service and being a great guy. Can strongly recommend:)

wow. I already ordered the Tusken Slayer from Watto's Junkyard but it'll be interesting to see your version. Their was quite expensive. I'd love a starkiller too but again its one of those hilts that can easily look cheap if the chamber isnt done right. Mocks up designs area always welcome.

Sadly this forum doesnt seem to get as many posts in general as it once did?Maybe Im wrong..But I still come here daily,in addition to FB .And you should also post in The Replica Prop Forum and lmperialroyalarms.

I use facebook for specific things, but any "news" just gets lost in the noise. I strongly prefer having a separate place to go for saber stuff.

Am I thinking too far ahead when I want a DM1 and hope to install on my own one day? New to this and am on a waiting list at Vader's Vault for my first saber. I intend to jump on another custom preorder list before I even look at basic construction, but seeing a few hilts i like...
Or should I wait and get proper installs on the blades I like?

It's not rocket surgery, it just takes some patience and attention to detail. Read, read, and keep reading. Look at build logs for ideas. There are plenty of posts here discussing recommended starting equipment.

So many sabers this year, really outstanding runs! I can only imagine the amount of work it is to run so many at the same time. Kudos!

so most get my email blasts, but for those who dont or dont go to Facebook -
The korbanth 2017 run is nearly complete, as we approach the middle of 2018 (ha ha ha)
So Gullwing-LS6 sabers were liked by about 90% - some loved it and some didnt and nothing wrong with that
The Crossguard 2.0 have come in, (allowing me to fill about 40% of my preorders) and rest is being boxed right now, so in 1-2 more weeks, the other 60% of all
preorders can be boxed and shippped
The Sid 2.0 saber - I filled about 80% of the preorders and the rest are getting their powder coated 2 tone added now, so once done and they send, all those are 100% out
The Graflex 3.0 reveal - all preorders are filled unless you have a multisaber order and you want ship complete..more are in stock
The new DM1 v2 is in stock and I have them ready to send...8 working buttons, much nice surface quality.
The Y3 is being assembled now, in china, should be out in June, a few months behind schedule, but when is anything on time when dealing with chinese manufactoring
I still also have in stock sabers from 2016-2017 - Graflex, MPP 2.0, K4, OWK, and DV6 - but not very many at all.
Once I get all orders out the door in the June 2018 time frame, I'll start looking at future sabers - the 4 I have in mind are:
Starkiller (the one that uses the exposed graflex chassis)
Skinny Flex (EP3 anakin Graflex)
Duke 2.0
Windu 2.0
