DIY Graflex with Yoda's "KIT"
« on: February 14, 2007, 12:04:36 PM »
Thanks to R2 I finally figured out how to post a pic.  I only have had the time to gut it out,  but you will soon see more when the parts arrive...hint hint Ultra (can't wait) :D

The pictures look great but it's even better in person.  I really got lucky on Ebay.  It was better than expected and a little less than a Parks.  I just had to have a vintage look.   Parks' look great but like GL said I wanted that lived in feeling.

Soon to be an ESB Lux V w/ultra's new board and blade with a Corbin for variety.

Well I never thought I would get back to this thread but Yoda just emailed pics of my kit that should be here this week.  I'll post a full review next week when I get it all installed.

Sorry about that Robiwon.

It was really a total piece of junk all dented and corroded.  Not!

I know how frustrating it is bidding, this was the third one it bid on.  20 bucks cheaper than a Parks not bad.

Sora, welocme

Saber buildiing goes from simple to very difficult depending on what you want to do.  I may be wrong but the Graflex coversion is one of the more difficult ones.  I have two years of aviation maintenance to back me up.  Everyone comes with different skills so try to take that into accoutn what is easy for one may be impossible for another.  Master Yoda is by far the king of the Graflex if you are looking for that.  there are plenty here that will help you along the way with any project.  I think ultra makes a good starter Do it yourself kit for the Master Replicas.  That would be a start.  The custom saber shop also has a modular (screw together hilt) that would be easire than say a graflex.

Good Luck with any project,

sora, if you don't want sound then the mhs is the way to go. you can make a totally sweet saber for 80$ish and it is really easy. If you want sound but not a MR then the mhs will also work great, once the new modular pommel system comes out.

Just figured out what MHS stands for.  MAn it stinks to be a padawan.  If you don't already know Sora it stands for modular hilt system, i.e. screw together.  TCSS is one  Dougggghhhh!!!!
