That's great! Now what blade holder can we use to convert this to a Lux?

Different question... How does one remove the clash sensor from the LED strip and re-wire it to the leads from the sound board? Any help there? When I get all of this down, I intend to make a step-by-step tutorial, if anyone else wants to see one. Master Yoda, any help here?

Heat up and remove the glue, then unsolder it at the posts from the bottom where it sticks into the board.
They are small and fragile so be mindful when removing it ;)

Excellent! I knew you'd have the insight I was looking for. And the blade holder you used for yous is a TCSS 1.25 inch holder? Is that a separate black piece enclosing the holder?

There are 2 versions I did...
My weathered version that uses a second piece of metal pipe that was cut to fit around it and
attached with a set screw in the back.

The one sold on eBay was the clean version and its separate piece of black material around
the top of the blade holder is a cut down piece and it was given a clean edge.

The adapter from TCSS gets cut down to approximately 2 and 1/4 inches total length and you'll
be able to line up some of the holes as I'v have shown in the pictures.

You'll only use the top disk from the heat-sink adapter to fit the LED on.

The Adapter has the Milled spot on it that allows the top shroud and plastic piece to fit in
to it.

The Heat sink and adapter will but against the inner plastic and the tabs on the sides of the sound
board plastic housing will be the only gap between the wires and the plate so cover the part of
the wires that could touch the plate with a piece of vinyl or electrical tape as a safety measure.

you'll need to point the clash sensor down into the larger side of the body over the soundboard
and on the side that the switch is has the most room. ;)

It is not thick walled blade friendly so stick with thin-walled blades for these.

Good luck and may the force be with you on your project 8)

You are the master. Great information, thanks so much! I'll keep an update of how this project progresses, and assuming it's a success, I'll write up an illustrated tutorial. Many thanks, Yoda!

that's amazing yoda. were either of your conversions able to keep sound? i wouldn't think so in such a small hilt but i could be wrong.

Hmmm. Many thanks for all the detailed photos. There must be some other way to remove the pin without hurting the sensor. I have a Yoda MR lightsaber on it's way from an ebay seller. I'll be disassembling it as part of a very special custom I'm making for my girlfriend. I'll let you know if I figure something out. I'll need full axcess to the LED string because I intend to replace all the green LED's with pink ones. I'll also be replacing the clamp section & making a sheep leather sleeve for the base of the hilt. I'm also planning to use black leather in my own custom saber & to replace the rubber sleeving on my Mace Windu saber once I upgrade it to a Luxeon.  ;D
Beware the Mark of the Gungan! :o

Total necropost, gentlemen.
This thread should be locked as there IS a way to remove the pins without damaging the clash sensor.
But I'm gonna let you "Search" for it. ;)

Mods, can we lock this one up?
