Starkiller V1 with PCv2.0

Starkiller V1

This started life as a crappy Mfx Saber.  It sat in my empty hilt box for over a year (maybe 2) because I knew what an undertaking it would be to bring it up to my standards.  It was slated to be built for a deadbeat, and when he turned out to indeed be a deadbeat, I re-shelved it.  Finally, i decided that it needed to be finished since it as mocking me.  I wanted to try a more modular approach to the internals on this hilt since they tend to be horribly difficult installs, but first I had to totally redo the hilt itself.  The knobs were horseyukkyness, it had no copper and it was only minimally weathered with crappy paint that rubbed off.  I used hammered copper where it needed to be, re-weathered her in enamel and triple baked her with a matte flat coat to finish it off which gives the saber a gorgeous "steel grey" finish.  The "box" was made from 2 rubber "t" grips, so I machined a new one from aluminum.  I removed the craptacular knobs and added actual graflex greeblies (the red button is now copper and the clear hemi is now red stained).  Next, I built a custom LED holder/optics module with an accent plenum so that the main LED would shine back into the crystal chamber for a neat effect.  The Crystal chamber is also modular and indeed attached to the LED module (it is all one module).  It houses a very nice blood red imperfect quarts point back-lit by 2 accent LEDs.  Finally, I machined a nice resonance module that also contains the recharge port and fits seamlessly into the modified MHS pommel that I machined to fit this hilt.  SD card access is VERY easy (loosen the one little hidden set screw, slide the pommel out and there it is.  The resonance is absolutely beautiful and this thing is sooooo loud.  I think this project would have been easier if I'd just gone scratch built, because I ended up putting in 20+ hours anyways.  The good thing is that the saber turned out absolutely beautiful, rock solid and definitely on par with the other SK1's I have made/collaborated on.

...yes...mocking me.  I know you know D, and I bet you have a chorus of them mocking you just as I do.  This one was the worst offender, and by worst offender I mean most likely that someone may actually want it, lol.

Hahaha, yes the shake weight was a gift from my grandma.  She knows how much I work out.  She saw it on TV and got it for my birthday.  It serves it's new purpose as a door stop quite well. ;D

Mine is still vigilantly standing guard over the gravitational pull of the clearance shelf at the Walmart. I wouldn't be caught dead jerkin that thing around.....

LOL, I'm glad that the shake weight is such a draw.  Maybe I should have done s photo shoot on that and had the ridiculously time consuming Starkiller in the background. ;D
