Followed this thread over from the RPF.  Ended up joining up for the resources here.

That bar graph isn't the piece that came with the hilt is it? If not, where did you dig that up? Really digging that detail.

Hehe, hi DM.  I feel so popular. :D

Yes, it's the bar graph that Trid included with the kit.  You can get them all over the place, and in different colors - just google 10 segment LED

I have a feeling that wiring diagram is going to come in handy for more than just this hilt...since it shows how the LED bargraph can be hooked up to a common MR board we could use that and have sound in other designs too eh?

To DREAM the IMPOSSIBLE DREAM. To FIGHT the unbeatable foe. To BEAR with unbearable sorrow. To RUN where the brave dare not go. To RIGHT the unrightable wrong. To LOVE, PURE AND CHASTE, FROM AFAR [-sigh-]. To TRY, when your arms are too weary; to REACH the unreachable Star!... This is my Quest; To follow that Star, no matter how hopeless, no matter how far...

I'm thinking of ways to fit it into some of my designs now  :)

One question though is how do you tell which side of the bargraph is positive and which is negative, or does it matter?

it does matter.  There is usually a notch (this one has a notch in the top) or some cut on the led bargraph.  That usually notates the anode side of the LED which is hooked to the +.   At least that's the way it was with the ones I have dealt with in the past.  I am not sure about this one yet since I haven't researched the part number yet.

I am loving the bar scroll effect on power up, does it have any other effects, like with a clash does the graph fluctuate?

Time will bring the real end of our trial.  One day they'll be no remnants

I asked about one a couple weeks ago and he's supposed to let me know if there is any extras. Haven't heard anything yet.

Haven't forgotten about you. I wanna get all the ones paid for packed up, so that I know exactly how many (if any) are left over. Equally, if there's enough interest, the machinist is willing to do another small run, but it may cost a few bucks more.

WOw that hilt is refreshing.
Love the pommel.
The lightstrip is nice too.
Looking at that hilt with the Ultra-blade in it is awsome.
All metal.

Me?  It's a 3/4" blade that I got from TCSS, and then I put my own polyp film in it. ;)
