I wanted to post this ahead of time because I know how the hobby is. People buy something and then a couple of days later, something becomes available and they wish they had the funds. If this is not ok to do this this way, mods please feel free to advise me. I'm not trying to circumvent the rules.
People know my medical issues in May. They know about my wife selling her CFv5 to help cover a small portion of them. Back in late 2009, I first began speaking with an individual about doing a run of Vader ROTS sabers. I had given my word to put forth a LARGE chunk of my cash to fund the endeavor. Being the Man and Marine of my word, when financial problems hit in and around August due to my medical issues, I didn't go back on my word. It would have been VERY easy for me to just say, "Heck, I need the cash to cover my debt to the hospital. I'm tapping those reserves." I know many people here are pissed about the way Derek handled his issues. xxx I am, because I'm out a saber too. But I was taught from a child, and as a Marine, "Your word is your bond." So I didn't tap that money, and my wife sacrificed her sound board.
Just recently, I pretty much discovered that I was somehow pushed out of this ROTS Vader project without my knowing, low and behold. Let's just say, "Well, I wish I would have known that back then." So, between leaving me with a VERY bitter taste in my mouth toward the hobby in general, and between that now surplus cash and me selling off my things, I will have a major dent in the hospital bill.

I'll probably keep the Master Replicas Force FX sabers I have and let my sons beat the xxx out of those. LOL ...
I am currently deciding if I want to get rid of my other Star Wars memorabilia too, including all my "Vader shrine". Not sure where the pictures are, but if I decide to do that, I will track it down and link it here so I don't have to redo it. This may include my "In progress 501st Vader ROTS" with modified Master Replicas lid with cooling fans, my Vortex 2 breathing system, Chippewa boots with height inserts, Ace Replicas Belt Buckle (best around by most people's accounts), belt boxes with modded lights and metal knobs, modified shoulders that need a new paint job, and modified chest box with better lights.
If I decide on ridding the Vader shrine, that would also include the MR LE Vader ROTS, ANH, and ESB, as well as my second MR Vader LE lid (mint). Also the Korbanth DV6 would be up for grabs too if this is decided.
So like I said, I'm definitely getting rid of all the numbered items above, and more if I come across them. I am considering the Vader items still.
Obi-wan and Luke, if you guys have any advice on how to approach the CFv5 issue, please feel free to give me your insight. Sam, your advice was invaluable last time so again, it would be much appreciated.
Mods, I apologize again for this type of post. It's late and I just wanted to get the word out that these items will be available in the next couple of days. I just got home after 10.5 hours of work and I'm tired. I would like to just be able to modify this post as I determine prices for the items, if that is ok with you all. Again, no disrespect was intended.

I'm really sorry that you're getting rid of your prized sabers and getting out of the hobby. Hopefully you'll still be around on the forums... :(

sounds like a crappy situation on top of a crappy situation - sorry for you troubles. Maybe sit on this a while? it would be a real shame to let somebody else's lame behavior poison something that has clearly given you a lot of good times. (butts in the stranger who doesn't know jack about you...)

I am sorry you have fallen on hard times, I know my life has really been kicking me in the neck lately to the point that my girlfriend and I are moving in with my parents. 30 years old and moving back in with mom and dad, this will get interesting.
as far as interest goes, I might be interested in the Oppressor, the Do Clo saber and maybe the display case for the saber, all dependent on prices and whether or not some one beats me to them.
My advice for the CFv5(not that my opinion carries much around here) is to eBay it along with any other high demand items so that any auction actions are handled fairly with out event. As will any high demand item that is up for bid the final price will be high whether its listed here on the forums or on eBay thats just the nature of the beast, but at least with eBay its an easy process as all the hard work is handled by eBay. All you have to do is make the listing and ship them item.

I think its safe to stay there will be a ton of interest in the CF. If you do part with the vader I may be interested in it and I've seen the pics a while back. Been thinking of doing a Vader, but really hope you don't unload everything.

Well, I, for one, might be interested in the Ultrafire Li-ion charger and the 14500 cells, pending price and whether they are protected, etc... I'll just wait and see on prices for it all.

Thanks a bunch Nartules for finding that. I had plans to have Don add a "Mara Jade" style grip on this and rework the emitter into something more sinister, but instead I'll let it up to someone to modify to their tastes.
Pictures of the Case are around here somewhere too. I'll look for those in the morning.

I'm wondering. did this individual take your money and then 'push you out' ??? or did he simply decide to go ahead without you(r cash)?
either way, it sounds like a stab in the back. it sucks when people don't honor their own word. if I were you, I'd be pissed too...
....but if I were you, I'm not sure that I would sell off all my stuff, based on the indiscretions of a single "individual".
in my experience, MOST of the people involved in the hobby are decidedly more honorable, than this one "individual" has revealed himself to be.
my advice: don't do anything you'll regret later. don't sell the Shrine. if it troubles you to look at it, then box it up and get it out of sight (out of mind). if you still feel the same way in a month, then let it go; if not, then unpack the boxes, and set things to right.
I have fond memories of Master Replicas, circa 2002-2007(RIP) :( I love my Vader Bucket. I won mine, playing trivia with Amy.
that , in itself, makes it special. and that wouldn't change, regardless of a(ny) unscrupulous "individual".
that type of "individual" can be found everywhere, afterall. from the dealer who ripped me off on my first car, to the contractor who ripped me off on my home renovation. :-\ I refuse to give those people the upper hand.
don't let this guy ruin something you care about, or he will win out in the end. remind yourself of WHY you built your shrine in the first place. I'll bet, it had nothing to do with anyone else but yourself. (you weren't out to impress anybody. you did it to satisfy your own passion for something intrinsically cool. much like my own MR display: anyone who doesn't like it can 'kiss my shiny metal xxx'). :-*

No Wedge, no money was lost. I had it sitting a bank account waiting as the finalized steps were to be taken from about April when I was first told the finished product would be ready soon. These were supposed to be done for Celebration V.
I'm not sure where the mix up occurred and frankly at this point am not really concerned about the "little details" that I might be missing. I really don't want to focus on that as it makes me even more irritated. I know that I was the front man helping to promote this product at the 501st Sith Lords and it was originally a project discussed between myself and another partner who decided they didn't want to be the point of contact. There was supposed to be 10 sabers made, and I had obtained 7 people's definite interest on a list once they saw actual photos of the end product. I discovered the other day pictures of the end product were listed IN my thread on the 501st and being sold by the machinist DIRECTLY which was not supposed to have happened. The project was to be handled by me and my partner. I wasn't even given the decency of being told about the pictures being posted in MY thread on the 501st, on a project that was initiated by me.
I don't do business that way. I wasn't raised that way. I think its quite underhanded, regardless of the "reasoning". And I know the person visits this forum and doesn't even have the intestinal fortitude to shoot me a pm or email explaining.
What happened, I have no clue. And honestly, it's not the first time I've gotten screwed over in the hobby and I guess I want to make sure its the last time because I don't like the way certain people conduct their self. Many people here are very altruistic in nature and do great things for people out of the kindness of their heart. I commend those people. Others are worse in nature than some people that were on the opposing end of my rifle in the Marines.
I guess it's the course of nature, I don't know.

"honor" is something you earn for yourself, by striving to do 'the right thing'.

Excuse the OT reply to the "OT (?)" but imo Wedge that results from a common misunderstanding and conflation of "honours" - external recognition and esteem that can be given or taken away by others, with "Honour" - an attribute of personal character that cannot be be given nor taken by others because it is part of personal Integrity, only held to or abandoned through personal free will choice.
For example if one discovered the Higgs Field [the real life 'Force' responsible for Mass which among other things 'binds the galaxy together'] then one would almost certainly be "honoured" with the Nobel Prize for Physics, the highest of scientific "honours"...if however while one was in Stockholm being "honoured" by the Nobel Comittee one were to cheat on ones spouse, break into the hotel safe, and/or murder a tour guide, then ones Honour would be severely self-compromised or destroyed despite receiving "honours" from one's peers.
Ultimately the only true Honour is the one that each of us and 'God' alone knows: the Honour within ourself, which for as long as one doesnt compromise it oneself can never be 'taken' by anyone.
