REVIEW Sabermach Phroton G4 aka Kagemitsu SAO

Specs
Prizm 5.5
Swap-able 18650 li-ion
2.1mm recharge port
Unknown speaker(to me at least)
Delrin chassis on a slider bar

Notes
Positives
Nice and slender hilt
Excellent belt hookup, and it's fixed. No Rattle.

Negatives
Switch placement is not canon. The switches are the same SPST Momentary tactile switch from TCSS. They are mounted on the sides of the hilt. Honestly, they are not that easy to use.
Blade include is short at 30" This was mentioned in the listing, so OK

Final
If empties were available without the switch hole and the chassis included, I would buy another empty version just to make my own switch solution that was more canon.

That said, I like the hilt, build and finishing. I just don't like the switches

Mucho Like-o, Jango!  :cheesy:  I dig SAO.  This is head & shoulders better than my cheap-o version; looks a lot bigger too.

In SAO II, they used modified lightsaber sounds.  They sound like standard sounds, but pitched up and modulated a tiny bit with some choral effects.  I used "Youngling" and turned it down. That sounded right to me. but that's just to my ear... which has been ravaged greatly over the years.

Switches with that far of a travel are usually a multi-purpose, like a DP4T.  Otherwise, a custom, integrated with the design would probably be the correct answer.  It does, however, remind me of a standard issue IR strobe (ms-2000) switch... maybe I'll reattack this someday.

Another great review on a rather interesting hilt design.

Jango, as an aside, are you still taking on saber commissions for customers? I sent you an email.

Thank you.
