Title: OddyTwo Saber
Post by: erv on September 07, 2007, 12:19:26 PM
My lastest one. Destination : ebay ! It's actually my first MHS saber, with reworked pieces. Mixture of various "classic' sabers. MPP clamp, calculator bubbles, obi emitter, graflex grips.
It has crystal focus 2.61 inside, K2@1.5 Amp, li-ion batteries, and 6 leds bargraph... under the bubbles ! 6 sounds banks, all by novastar, he can be proud of that !

No problem. I've planned on finally getting my own personal saber for a while now, I think that might happen this holiday season. And I'm a big fan of the crystal focus core  ;D

thanks for all your kind answers, I'm really happy you like my sabers, I'm trying my best to improve and improve my board !
Those thanks (yours & mines) also goes to the fantastic user activity that has been using crystal focus and requested new stuff. This way, the features have grown a bit faster than if I've been there working on my own. Same thing is happening for Blaster Core !

nice one erv!  is it going to be in auction or buy it now??!

Amazing Erv, again professional work ma man! Really is a good showcaser for your work, makes me happy about buying supplies or a saber later this year. That CFC 2.61 looks great! Definately have to get one of those.

Very nice, very nice indeed. I could blow so much money on lightsabers at the moment if I was just a bit richer... Good work!  ;D

Erv, in the description, you describe the blade as 'Dual film polycarbonate 1" blade'.

You may well have posted the info elsewhere and I've not seen it, but I assume from that description you're using mylar or polypropylene or similar film like in Ultrablades and Corbin-type diffuser for the ignition/retraction effect?

If that is true, how do put it inside the blade and in what sort of amounts? i.e. Is the Corbin film inside the other film or vice versa, are they rolled seperately or together and how many wraps/what length of each do you have in the blade?

I ask this as you seem to get a good combination of very evenly lit blade and the scrolling on/off, so it would be handy to know. Thanks!  ;)

I'm using the 2 films, diffusion + lightguide, as described in my luxeon blade tutorial on the website. And you're right, it's a good combination that allows retractation effect and even blade !

Just watched the video, that is SWEET! :) Once I save some cash I'll be purchasing some parts from Erv to build a crystal focus orientated saber for myself. :)

Cheers for the pointer to the tutorial, Erv  ;) very helpful, clear and informative, although I'm still curious about the specifics of how many wraps/length you find best in your sabers that have photos of recently?

just like in the tutorial. Xwing last saber (parks obi ep I retrofitted to luxeon) used that and he was so pleased. 35 cm of crystal paper, and a double wrap of diffusion film.

Nice one, thanks again, I must have missed the specifics when I read it. I think I noticed something quite recent on TCSS forums from Xwing to that effect  :)
