PLI the TeensySaber way
« on: August 26, 2017, 02:55:31 PM »

TeensySaber now supports small (128x32) OLED displays.
Currently they will show power level and current preset, but can obviously be made to show anything you like.
The displays come in white and blue, and can be bought directly from ebay, or from me in my teensysaber sales
thread: TeensySaber V2 for sale  (I'm running low on TeensySabers right now, but I will order more as soon as I run out.)

Cool, such an OLED dislay will make a saber hilt look even more sci-fi like. I used the same type and size OLED for my DIYino E11 blaster, as it's more common for blasters to include an OLED. Now I'm working on to figure out how to make it dislay Star Wars characters and include a rendered picture. :azn:

Hi profezzorn, if you want to use Arebesh characters, those we see in all Star Wars movies, here is a font you can try, I've just made it from an open source font I got from a friend:

https://github.com/Protonerd/FX-BlasterOS/blob/master/libraries/Adafruit-GFX-Library-master/Fonts/Aurebesh_6pt.h

Although I used - for lack of a smaller one - a bigger OLED, it looks nice on a 128x32 you linked in in your first post:

That is indeed a very cool font, but I would need the original TTF file to convert it to the format I use in TeensySaber.

Here you go:

Have fun! Yesterday I tried with the slim 128x32 display, looks perfect.
