I'd go just to meet some of the awesome people I have had a chance to become friends with, but again, depends on location, timing, cost, etc.

If you made the event very close to the timing of celebration 7 in the same general area I would love to attend ?

As I have all ready started the prep work for the event and will be in the states for 2 weeks and being the cost of flights and the hotels I doubt I could make 2 trips

Perhaps we should start compiling a list of things we would want to happen at a sabercon, and keep track of the ideas in the first post?

Perhaps extend it to not just the saber forums, but make sure the various saber clubs are all invited as well.

Some of the things i think could be good to have
-screening some of the movies?
-costume contest
-selective sparring matches and demonstrations (sparring would be wearing protective equipment and refereed)
-swap meet/flea market trading sabers, components, leds, whatever random stuff we wall have lying around we might like to get something more useful to us for
-R&D panel discussion on new tech we can adapt to our hobby
-choreography and displays from various saber clubs

By finding out more of the things we want there, we can get a better overall idea of what sort of facility we might need.

it all depends on location for me.  I'd love to go, but 2 trips to california (this and CVII) would be tough.  I know it depends on whether enough people commit before location can be determined, but I can't commit until I know a rough location.  I'd do everything humanly possible to attend though.

There are international airports all over the place.  Like Tampa/St. Petersburg international (at least it used to be called that)

Depending on the location, I would attend.  I gots me a wifey and three kid lets, so this sort of thing would be an undertaking.  But I'm game.

I've broken Juggers in half, smashed their bones, left the ground behind me wet with brains. There's nothing I wouldn't do to win. But I never hurt anyone for any reason other than sticking a dog's skull on a stake.

I would prefer a Midwest location but could probably make anything work.  While my saber buidling skills are limited at this point I've got a few other skills to pay the bills.  Whether its help in coordinating, raising some funds, video promotion support, or other I'm available.  One last plug for Chicago   ;D

Would be able to make a Minneapolis/St. Paul con, and most probably a Chicago convention.  Everything else would be out, though.

Location is a big deal for me too.  It could also make a nice backdrop for choreography events or just running around the outdoors with sabers.
Northern California would be nice with Redwoods and ROTJ.
The Upper Midwest would be great for that Hoth feel (though not for a summer event).
Southern Utah/Nevada would be great for ANH Tatooine or ATOC Geonosis feel, w/o having to go to Tunisia.  And remember, Moss Eisley= Vegas.  Both Salt Lake City and Vegas are international, and SLC is a hub for cheaper flights.
