Lol why I read blade plug instead of holder I dont know.

I cant remember who made the blade holder.  It was a company that does graflex holders as well (enaswede bought it maybe he remembers).  I dont think they do 1" ones anymore.

I had to machine my own heat sink though because it didnt come with one.

yeah I just looked (was on my phone earlier) and it is the graflex shop that sells them.

http://www.graflexshop.com/socket.htm

It shows its for a 3/4 blade so I am not sure if they just do not sell the 1" anymore or its a misprint.

As long as the grooves in it are not too deep you can always machine the inside of the blade holder.

Awesome, MH! Is this the first Vader reveal saber?  This looks beautiful! How does the Tri Rebel Red compare to the Tri Cree Red in your opionion?

there have been a couple others (slothfurnace and an unknown to me...and there may be others)

I haven't compared the two reds side by side.

Aluke123 did one a while back but it was a full pull out chassis.

General Grievous did a reveal twist-around MPP
http://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/index.php?topic=28932.0

These are the only other "reveal" type MPP sabers I have seen (other than this and Slothfurnace's)

This one looks awesome.  I've never seen a split other than the Slothfurnace one.  If anyone can find the one MH mentioned, please share the linkage!

Just to comment on the pull-apart feature. This looks like amuch simpler build that the Slothfurnace one (which looked like a mammoth undertaking but well executed).  How exactly was it that you got the clamp to hold the MPP in so that it didn't flex?  I saw the vid and this look impressive most impressive.

To add a little more history to DarthSid1138's post

Here's an ESB http://george.s8.xrea.com/2010/04/us25-vader-esb.html

Some comments on MPP conversions
The graflexshop had a hard time selling the MPP blade holder as there was not much interest. He had them for years before selling the last one to me several months ago. I saw an interest thread posted a while back looking to get at least 10. It did not fill up.
This is compounded that the MPP does not split in the middle like a graflex. If you cut it in half, there will be exposed brass that can either be ignored or re-chromed($$$)

Sloths is a very complicated build and is spring loaded.

The MPP clamp is just like a graflex clamp.  When you close the lever it tightens down on it.  If you screw the lever in tight enough it will hold very tightly.  You cant even tell the saber is in two pieces when the lever is locked down because it hold it tightly.  A difference in it and the graflex is the MPP has a rubber type bushing between the clamp and body which helps to grip the saber.

That is the one I was thinking about Jango.
