MH said it won't be completely correct but I do think it is coming along great.

I really love that neck piece and I can appreciate that bell curved part, it definitely looks better than the first go. That brass is shining!

Thanks...

Yeah this is not 100% accurate BUT it should be a really nice representation but slightly bigger around (and in proportion with the step up).

It will be for sale when complete BTW...its getting a CF7 and BBW Tri-rebel.

OK I made the copper neck part and the blade holder.

What I did for the emitter was use an old AL one I had (no idea where I got it) that was for a static hilt evidently.  I made the little step down on it (it was straight across).

I drilled out the center section completely and then made a new blade holder that screwed onto the copper neck.  I made a space for the Tri-rebel and a 7/8th blade.

Then I press fit it onto the existing emitter which worked perfectly.

I made a decisions to give myself a little more blade depth and I do not like it so I will be getting the blade holder back out of the emitter and shortening it.  I will have about 1/4" to 1/2" less blade clearance but I do now like how long the piece sticks out the bottom.

That is IF I can press the blade holder back out lol.

I will probably mess with that tomorrow some.

Here are the pics I took anyway...you can see how far the bottom of the blade holder sticks out and I thought I wouldn't mind but I do not like it (not when everything else is in correct proportion).

Just ignore my post above LOL

I just couldn't stand it so I pressed the blade holder out and fixed it.  I am much happier with it now and it really looks good.

While I had it off I took some pics (forgot to before).

So here is the saber with the grenade and neck section done (well machining...I need to sand and polish the emitter because it has some small scratches in it)...

Now I just have to wait until my tooling comes in for the grenade and also wait on the TCSS pommel.

I will probably work on it again this weekend (hopefully everything is in by then).

Sweet!  I like the copper and brass elements- The ROTS obi has been in my top 3 for ages (it's currently #1, with a V2 luke at #2).

I like this ALOT. Coming together very nicely. 100% agree with you about the shortened blade holder it looks much better now (proportionally).

Thanks :).  I really appreciate it.  I have spent a lot of time on this to try and get it right.

I had to go back this morning and re-do some stuff because it just looked too long.  I got my measuring tools and begin to get it all in proportion to the rest of the body.

I had to take a little off the copper neck, neck ring and the step up part below the neck ring.

After that I machined all the scratches out of the emitter and it is finished for sure this time (the grenade up that is).

Here are the final pics of the grenade up plus some of the greeblies I dug up from where I had this planned before.

EDIT...oh and how about a side by side with a Parks Obi MKIV (or III...cant remember).

I know every is probably sick of me updating this thread several times a day lol...

My TCSS pommel came in today so I decided to go ahead and modify it for the saber.  I cut the threading off and threaded it on the inside, then I turned down the step up on the lip (front and back) and cut a piece of TCSS shroud material to extend the pommel (both in thickness and length) and finally turned down and threaded what will be the gear section.

It is looking like a saber finally lol...

Here is the saber together...

Here is the pommel off showing the threading internally and externally...

And finally here are all the pieces unscrewed...

Very nice,  MH. This is probably one of the only movie sabers I've ever felt I wanted to have in my possession,  and this one is turning out quite nice indeed.
