CSJ Props: Master Replicas/Hasbro Pommel Inserts
« on: January 09, 2014, 05:17:30 PM »
Hey everyone,

I recently had a piece made for an MR upgrade that I'm working on and I'm considering making these a readily available item.

I find it frustrating to have to come up with a decent solution to the problem caused when upgrading a Force FX saber and no longer using the original battery pack, because of the large hole left behind in some models and then the added question of "Where can I put the recharge port that it won't detract too much from the replica look of the hilt?"

The current prototype is predrilled for sound and is threaded for a recharge port. (A nice way to place the port and still keep the look of the saber of course.)

I know this is nothing ground breaking, but I thought a readily available solution might be something others in the community may be interested in, so here it is.

I'm just looking to gauge interest here.  I'm not currently taking orders or doing a run, or anything of that nature, but if enough people want something like this for their Vader, Anakin, Luke etc, then I'll consider it.

Very very interesting.
How did you attach the insert to the Hasbro pommel ?
Is it glued or you did find another solution  ?

Actually, these are purposely NOT attached.  They are a pressure fit that holds tight when the pommel is screwed on tight and when the pommel ring is loosened the insert spins to allow the recharge port to spin freely so that the wires won't bind up.
