AwesomeSauce X11000 phase 1-3 proof of concept#2 Demo
« on: January 02, 2013, 01:04:21 PM »
This kit was sold to me as unfinished, with no painted details. Red screws were anodized. My agreement to purchase stipulated I finish soonish, and provide feedback to Wat, so if there needed to be any changes made they could be done before a run.
I have provided him with those, so now I am free to show this awesome saber to you.

The details, I Powder Coated in. It's Tuscan Flat black. It was quite a bit of work to mask everything and this was only the second&third :) hilt I've ever powder coated parts on. :-X
Here it is put together afterwards

For the electronics I wanted to try something new in staff hilt. I'm not sure if anyone else has done one this way yet.
Normally 2 Soundboards would be used. So the staff could separated for dual wielding or to show the battle damaged version.
I have no intention of doing that, so this is build is non separable.
The specs are
CF 6.1 with CeX
2xTri-rebel RRW*
2x 2W HB speakers**
1x 7.4v 18500 li-ion power supply(currently installed)
RICE cable

*The Reds are in parallel @ 1200. They are being driven from CeX output 1&2 respectfully. The Whites are being driven from the main CF output in parallel @ 1950. This does flash white in both blade when a FoC is triggered.
**The speakers are at emitter ends of the hilt pointing towards the center. This creates the dual sound that i would look for in a staff saber.

Here are some pics of the chassis and wiring

The chassis was not included. I made it out of some acrylic discs and rods I keep in-stock. Note: the battery pack in pics is a 18650 pack. It was just a bit to long, so It was swapped out for the 18500 pack at final install.

Moar specs!
The blades shown are 32" 7/8 blades, Jango style dual diffused

Ahhh, so this is what has been keeping you buisy. ;)

Very nice job on the powder coating and install.  I am very jealous.
Wish I could afford the current auction.

We should have known...

"Always two there are..."

Awesome install and that set is beautiful.  8)

It's beautiful Jango.  I hope there's a run so I too can complete my TPM set with something better than a converted MR Maul.

I have ordered parts for another staff saber that will push the 1 CF staff saber setup a bit further, as it will be a cram-fu challenge.
Anywho, as no one has posted here or on FX that this technique has be done before, I'm going to name it.

Crystal Focus Happy Hour.
CF Happy Hour or CF-HH for short.

2-4-1 get it. ;D
