Without a doubt, this is 'the best' working Luke V2 saber I have ever seen...WOW!!!  This Luke V2 has really raised the bar and set the standard for all other Luke V2's.  The level of screen accuracy is amazing!!!  No wonder you have had so many views on your Youtube page Madcow, well done man!    :o

I love this saber! Couple questions though, you said you used 2700mah 4.8v (4 batteries) NIMH cells. Did you use AA or AAA? Where did you get those batteries? And will they work with the Tenergy NIMH smart charger sold at TCSS?

Most of us no longer use Nimh as they are really no longer recommended with the higher end soundcards.  LiIon is the better solution for today's tech.

Agree.

This is a super old thread. I still have that saber, but It seriously needs a retrofit with Lithium Ion batteries and a PC3

Ok so don't use NIMH cells. And rob. I'm building an mhs luke v2 and I was wondering if you could tell me what would be the best 7.4v li ion battery solution to be put it this hilt. I'm using the ribbed choke combo piece, a 2" DF, gender changer and 1.2" DF, so what do you think will be the best li ion setup? (Sold at tcss) Considering that the hilt might be cramped with all the electronics. And also of course the 2.1mm port in the 1.2" DF extension for the cone knob kill key. And if do retrofit it with li ion cells and a PC3, make a vid, it would be really cool to see.

A. 7.4v 18650
B. 7.4v 18500
C. 7.4v 14650
D. 7.4v 14500 (stick style)
E. 7.4v 14500 (2aa battery pack style)
F. 7.4v 14500 (4aa battery pack style)

Honestly I can not comment unless I had those pieces in hand with the sound board to do some eyeballing.
