Thanks Greedo. I highly suggest modifying the Luke ROTJ. It really helps in tricking the eye that the saber is much thinner then it really is. For some reason the copper just makes it look even larger then it really is. Plus if you take off the copper and  really don't like it, then you can always get the copper kit and make it look better then the original!

I might modify it one day.  Right now I don't really have the time or money for it.

For some reason back in April all I got were red X's. Glad I can see them now. Oh, and thanks for the compliments!  ;D

I haven't been around too much lately but it sure is good to see a few more V2's popping up.  Very nice job Admiral!

The Luke ROTJ is very easy to take apart. Peel the sticker off the control box. Remove the screws. Take the top copper part off. Cut the wires to the switch or unsolder them. Remove the control box. Now, remove the plastic sleeve in the bottom of the hilt. It is very lightly glued in place. Put two fingers in and twist it back and forth. It should come out. Now you will remove the blade and electronics. There is a small plastic nub that holds everything inside. On some you can grab the blade, twist back and forth and you will feel the nub give way. Others you may have to hod the blade and give it a firm jab downward on a rolled up towel. Your basicaly applying force to break the nub. Don't worry, the nub will let go before anything else does. The blade and electronics will now slide out the bottom of the hilt.

Do you know if you can run the led light strip off of a Vader ESB board? I want to swap the board from my vader into my luke but use the green lights of the luke.

I thought all the FX sound boards were the same, despite it being for a Sith or Jedi lightsaber?

I did this exact swap a few months back. But into a different hilt. It does work.

Depending on wich version of the ESB hilt you have you may be able to have a removable LED blade. Some of them had a plug in jack type blade where MR had toyed with the idea of having them be removable. They dropped the idea and added a screw thru the plastic electronic tube and thru the base of the blade. This can easily be modded to make the blade removable.

You do have to watch your connections with the Vader and Luke ROTJ. The Molex connectors are different sizes, and the wire color coding is different. There is no clash sensor wiring on the ROTJ blade module, as it is run via a jumper board that rests under the main board.
