After speaking with Jango, who has sanctioned this thread and the run, he has asked that I post an interest thread here for those who were on the Legacy Killer Penny run who are interested in getting a display stand for this saber.
The stand will be made from several different types of acrylic, will include a plaque, and will hold the saber within its blade holder like a blade plug.
Please note, this will be open for those who own a Legacy Killer Penny saber. Thereafter, the design may possibly be made available for others who are interested in the design. You may still post your interest here if you are not currently an owner of a Killer Penny, but this will initially be an exclusive design for owners of the saber.
I've come up with some renders of a proof of concept and am open to suggestions for some modifications and selections of colors/materials for the run.
Below are a few pictures of the proof of concept, which is subject to change and I am open to recommendations for suggestions.
Plaque:

The parts in red are for laser engraving, which will show in a frosted white on the acrylic. The plaque will either be on a gold mirrored acrylic, or possibly on a clear acrylic with the letters painted in gold or copper paint.
Pommel Side Arm:

There are 2 renders I have come up with for the arm that will hold the back end of the saber.
Base of the stand and main arm:

The concept is to either have a round base or octagon base with two colors of acrylic layered on top of one another.
Feel free to post your interest here, and if you are interested in a stand to post any suggestions you may have for the design.

Yes please! I like the overall layout and design.
Lets get this going!
-
I would be interested
-
Interested, but you know that already. :cheesy:
The run is endorsed by me. Permission to post here was given by Acerocket.
Once we are a go, this thread or a new one will be posted in the Trade Federation MISC section.
A Mass PM has been sent to the run participants.

Yes - sign me up! This is terrific - thanks!

Super excited for a stand to finely mount this amazing saber. Rydiddy please don't underestimate the weight of this saber when designing your support structure.
-
Definitely, I've been told the saber is about 3 lbs. so it will have to be a thicker acrylic for the base

3 pounds is correct. Could become slightly more, depending on batteries and whatnot, but at a minimum, they're 3 pounds. I'm looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

Bumping this for anyone planning on joining the run who may have any suggestions on the design.
I am planning on making one of these as a proof of concept before the run opens. At that point the design will be finalized and I will have pricing information. Stay tuned ;)
-
I would be interested as well!

A few pictures of the prototype. It still needs some small tweaks and there is time to make some small amendments to the details if anyone has any recommendations:
-
Great work bud. I don't have a penny but, I would want the saber as the feature. From an artistic point of view the plaque is a distraction, it's too big and draws attention away from the main feature which is meant to be the saber.
Personally I would want that detail on the base and not separate.

Pretty good so far. A couple of thoughts.
It's hard to visualize the KP on this stand. Will the shrouds of the KP extend into the orange circle pieces? Also, is there a way to change these to gold to match more of the stand? While the plaque is somewhat big I'm ok with it as the KP is bigger than the QGJ. Final thought is that perhaps the base should just be rectangular with mirror bottom so that more of the saber is shown.
Thanks. JR.

The size of the plaque does not bother me. Overall I think it looks good although I am having a hard time visualizing a Killer Penny sitting on the stand. I realize you do not have one on hand, but it would help tremendously. I think the orange rings are supposed to mimic the copper which I might be cool with, but again it is hard to visualize how the front shroud will look extended over them.

Applaud the efforts made with this design. But I am hoping for a stand similar to the one Corbin has made from brass and copper. Simple, strong, and metal.
-
It looks good, but I'm more into the plainer stands these days, just enough to hold the saber and maybe a plaque. I just don't have the room for all these huge stands anymore.
-
Although I like it, it is too ornate to me. A more simple stand that prominently displays the saber is more to my liking for this iconic hilt.

Hi everyone,
I am taking a last call on any interest on this run, and making a cutoff of January 5, 2018 for anyone who wants one of these. If there is anyone interested, please post here or PM me.
The pictures in the thread can still be seen when you click them.
The price is going to be $80 and $15 shipping in the con US. Comes with the stand and a plaque with your number from the run.

Photos aren't working for me, to be honest, I don't even remember what this looks like.

Thank you but I’m out on this.
-
I'm still in. Send me an invoice via paypal.

No, thank you. Out of interest, I noticed the sample image of the stand has 'No 4 of 13' printed on it. Mine is number 4, as Wat had written on certain parts. I wonder if everyone knows their particular number saber, as I do not remember any actual notes attached saying so. Not remembering this does not mean there was not one sent though, ha ha.

The parts are all in and these are shipping out:
Thank you to everyone who participated in the run!
