Accent pads
« on: November 09, 2020, 11:03:05 AM »
Hello
Would I be able to wire in three rgb leds to the accent pads and control them with the sequencer? I am set up with neo pixel blade.
Thankyou
Mark

sure, accent led pads are totally independent from the blade (or can mirror its color eventually). Accents 5-8 can be used as RGB control using attributes 1234 for blade mirror or CRYS for crystal color and pulsing.

5 6 7 would go to the led anodes (common cathode to the neg / ground)

So for each led I would solder one of the colours to 5, the second Color to 6 and the third Color to seven? Then repeat for the other two leds?

only 5 of them have PWM and mirror

Does that mean I can only use single Color or clear leds on these pads?

What ERV says is that out of those 8 pads, Pads 2,5,6,7,8 are PWM's.. Pads 1,3,4 are Hi/Low pads..
You may chose to match every pads to the blade color (color parameter) or Xtal color (xcolour parameter) but only 2,5,6,7,8 will be able to reflect the voltage needed to effectively match the color of each die (R,G and B)

Sorry if I seem a little slow understanding this. I understand the difference in the accent pads but  would I have to connect each of the rgb legs from the led to three separate PWM pads? I guess it would be impossible to connect three separate rgb leds, nine legs total plus the three grounds.

You may connect those 3 RGB's in parallel using only 3 pads but then you must sure not to drain  more than 18mA per pads. (well actually, even when installing 1 RGB you should check the mA drained..f.i. one of my surface mounted RGB drains 39mA@3.3v on Red die, not sure CFX would accept this without frying)

Thankyou, I think I will stick with single Color leds. I have a kit of them coming from Amazon.
