Title: Studio Scale for the future
Post by: Bandit-Jedi on March 19, 2006, 11:02:27 AM
So we know that Master Replicas is developing the Millenium Falcon Studio Scale with working lights for a price tag of around $2100 to be released most likely in 2007 for the 30th Anniversary.   With MR putting out close to 1 Studio Scale (SS) every year, what do you think will be next?

I would like to see a jedi star fighter

I would love to see an Incom T-65 "RED 5" X-wing SS replica.   That is the one SS that I ABSOLUTELY must have!  I had wanted one since ICONS released their X-wing back in the day, but was unwilling to pay the $1400 price tag for it.
I'm sure MR could pull of an excellent SS of Luke's signature starfighter and I would hope that they do it with a full Death Star display base.   If not, I guess I will be getting a custom display case for it cause there is no way I want that beauty getting dusty.

So I say to Master Replicas...."Build the X-Wing, and I will Buy!"

I would like to see a jedi star fighter

I remember reading a post on another board where someone said that if they made a Studio Scale of a Jedi Starfighter, it would just be  a CD-ROM disc with a label on it saying "JediFghtr file"   Since the majority of the fighters were CGI and all. haha.

Were any physical models, other than the lifesize versions of the Jedi Fighters made?

I do so enjoy the all PT studio scales would have to be on discs jokes. :D

From what I've read the Icons X-wing is precisely why MR is hesitant to do it, but maybe if it was an SE.  ::)
(Dennis Lawson's autograph, excellent! :D )

They need to do a Death Star as a second 30th anniversary piece, now that would be quite a 2007!  And what a display the pair would make!

FYI it's Denis Lawson. :D ;) In ANH and in ESB they spelled it wrong during the credits. ;) Just a fun fact provided by Dark Skywalker.  ;D ;)

Ya, MR things are really expensive sometimes.
Title: Re: Studio Scale for the future
Post by: benlurkin on March 22, 2006, 10:14:21 PM
A studio scale R2 would quite expensive, but very cool.  Although I'm not sure it'd be worth it if it wasn't a full scale interactive model, like the mini one.
Title: Re: Studio Scale for the future
Post by: ani104 on March 22, 2006, 10:15:08 PM
A full scale interactive one would be a lot of money.
Title: Re: Studio Scale for the future
Post by: benlurkin on March 22, 2006, 10:24:29 PM
True, but if a studio scale R2 would push $2000 already then it wouldn't really be that much more. :D

There is already an AT-At out, but it costs 1500 bucks  :'(

Yes but if it could walk with a remote control it would be worth every penny! :D

Oh, obviously, but it doesn't
Title: Re: Studio Scale for the future
Post by: benlurkin on March 24, 2006, 12:21:06 AM
A shame indeed.  I never really could justify the expense and size of the ATAT, now a nice, understated piece like the forthcoming falcon, that is much more reasonable. :D

Come to think of it, that would be good......

Title: Re: Studio Scale for the future
Post by: Anakin2 on March 24, 2006, 01:01:39 AM
it should be a big huge studio scale sandcrawler, with smaller studio scale droids that come inside of it...as to capture the essence of the jawa-like nature.
Title: Re: Studio Scale for the future
Post by: ani104 on March 24, 2006, 01:02:54 AM
I still think they should do some of the 1man fighters from the OT.

i would love to see an x-wing!
Title: Re: Studio Scale for the future
Post by: benlurkin on May 11, 2006, 03:33:29 PM
MR is shying away from doing any ships done by Icons recently, since the theory is the Studio Scale market is very limited.  So that doesn't really help the classic two fighters.
Title: Re: Studio Scale for the future
Post by: Bandit-Jedi on May 11, 2006, 03:54:42 PM
I hope they eventually do them.  With the advancing technology and engineering they would be able to make a Studio Scale much more accurate and with more "extras" than the ICONS versions.

I would love to see a Studio Scale X-Wing with "engine" lights and interior control lighting as well as a lighted R2 unit!

Motorize and give sounds to that R2 and it would be absolutely perfect!

A Slave I would be awesome! Hopefully they would do it OT style ;).
Title: Re: Studio Scale for the future
Post by: darthmorbius on June 15, 2007, 06:15:01 PM
A Slave I would definitely be cool, but they would have to include a properly scaled magnetic "hovering" carbonite block that you could place over the loading ramp for me to buy it! ;D

If they did, I would be inclined to purchase an SS Falcon to Display it with.

How about a Studio Scale Cloud City? Can't have Slave I without it!

B-wing baby.  B-Wing all the way.  Imperial shuttle would rock, or what about this:  The ANH opening @ studio scale.  A SS Corellian corvette with a SS Star Destroyer shooting at it.  Maybe some colored/LED'd blasts in the air between the ships!

Alas, until these items I will have to pine for the Y-Wing that will never be mine :).
