offers more features, improved performance and improved sounds.

The New Ultrasound 2.5 features:

Supports two accent LEDs

Supports Multiple Luxeon LED types including:

Single button/switch operation and set-up.

Luxeon, 3watt, 5watt, K2, Luxeon 3 Red, and a New Luxeon 3 overdrive selection.

ULTRASOUND OPERATION INSTRUCTIONS.

This board uses a momentary tactile switch for operation.

1. Tap the button once to turn the saber on.

2. Hold the switch down for 2.5 seconds to turn the saber off.

3. Push button for Clash/Lock Effect.
After saber is activated (in on mode) the user can press once to activate a fast flicker effect
User can again press once to deactivate fast flicker and return to standard operation.

Main Menu: Set-up Navigation

1. With Saber turned off and batteries installed hold the button down to enter the setup menu.
You’ll know you’re in the menu because the board will tell you (it talks).

2. Tap the button to go through the choices.
After you hear the board say the LED type your using or Level of operation desired
hold the button down to select it.

4. The saber will exit the setup menu after the blade mode selections.

Installation specifications and requirements.

LED choices:

2. Luxeon 3 red/amber/red-orange (1400mah)
3. Luxeon 5 (850mah)
4. Luxeon K2 (1500mah)
5. Luxeon 3 Overdrive (1200mah)
IMPORTANT! (be sure to select the correct LED type installed in your saber)

Battery input voltage:
Maximum for board = 9.6V
Minimum/Maximum for Luxeon 3, K2, P4 = 4.5V / 7.2V (6V recommended)
Minimum/Maximum for Luxeon 3,P4 Red/Amber = 4.8V / 6.0V
Minimum for Luxeon 5 = 7.2V
IMPORTANT! (be sure to use the correct voltage/power with corresponding LED type)

Switch Type.
Momentary switch required (switch bounce issue has been resolved)

Wire Type.
High quality copper wiring is recommended for all connections.
(Flexible silicone sleeve type recommended)
Use appropriate gauge wire for corresponding components.
Example:
Luxeon LED: 20 - 18 gauge
Speaker: 22 - 20 gauge
Battery Power: 22 - 20 gauge
Switch Lead: 24 - 22 gauge

Mounting and Installation Recommendations.

Soundboard should be mounted/secured to a non metal surface.

Plastic Tubing or sleeving is recommended for lining the inner wall of your saber and or to
surround the board preventing and foreign metals to accidentally come in contact with the
board while power is applied)

A plastic mounting plate/case is recommended for attaching to an internal chassis or by
other means of securing it in the hilt to keep it stationary for proper gesture recognition.

Safety and Precautions:

DO NOT leave batteries in Saber while not in use for long periods that would allow
the batteries to completely drain.
REVERSE VOLTAGE or improper LOW VOLTAGE can damage the electronics.
Only Use the specified batteries and observe all battery precautions.

FOLLOW CHARGING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY FOR LITHIUM ION BATTERIES
ACCORDING TO CHARGER INSTRUCTIONS.

** Photosensitive epilepsy warning.
Photosensitive epilepsy is the name given to epilepsy in which all, or almost all, seizures
are provoked by flashing or flickering light, or some shapes or patterns. Both natural and
artificial light may trigger seizures. Various types of seizure may be triggered by flickering light. [/quote]

These are not much different from the 2.0 and the 2.1.

Also, on the back of the 2.5 is a jumper wire. It was blue on the sample I was given, but it may be a different color.
This wire is not a kill key holder, belt hanger, or a line to secure your board in the hilt.
Do not remove it, cut it, splice it.

Any damage to this jumper line will void your warranty.
The only exception, is if the board arrives from Ultrasabers or TCSS with the wire being damaged.
All returned boards will be subject to inspection and if the jumper line is damaged and the tabs have been soldered the board will be returned to you at your expense. No refund or replacement will be given.

L1  matches The main LED
L2 is the idle flashing LED

When booting up a US 2.5 for the first time the main LED and accent pads may not fire. Go into the menu and complete your set up and it should fire.
This has happened to me on two boards, and it both work fine .

As far as specific voltage or current output goes?

Nope.
I know that reds and ambers need a resistor, but I still have not needed one with an install, so I have not metered it yet.

Blues, cyans greens whites are fine if they are wired directly.

Also if you are holding the board with "switch pads" pointing up the negative lead for the accent pads is on the left. Same as the main LED

Maybe this has been asked before, but couldn't find the answer.

Anyone has a diagram or a picture of the wiring and soldering of the USB v.2,5? I guess it's equal to the USB v. 2.0 but just wanna make sure.

I'm building my first custom MHS saber and I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with this soundboard. Would this switch be usable with it?   http://www.thecustomsabershop.com/DPDT-Latching-blue-illuminated-switch-P435.aspx

No,  the Ultrasound 2.5 uses a momentary action switch,  like this one:

You already have the soundboard,  I hope...they are out of stock,  and may not be produced again.

I don't have the board yet, but I've spoken to a couple people who have spares they'd be willing to sell me  ;D will the US also power a battery indicator? and would I be able to wire these things straight to the board or do I need resistors?

No,  it cannot do a battery power level indicator.
