IMO making Qui-gon stay alive and turn to the darkside (X off Dooku from the movies) that would've single handedly made me love the PT more then I do. Also keeping Maul would be like the icing. :D

Wow....  Cobalt, those are some great ideas.  They would've made the PT not only more bearable, but much more emotional.  Alas, we just have the stuff Lucas decided to put out, which is rather stiff and emotionless, mired in a world of shiny CG.  Oh, if only you were working at Lucasfilms during the PT filming..... ;)

Ya man sorry to get off topic but I would so rather work on PT (lke as an actor) then OT because you get to practice sabers and do cool stunts and land on mats and stuff. It would be awesome.

Cobalt...I like ur ideas...i think Qui Gon should have had more of a role..
if ANYTHING they should have filmed that last scene with Yoda and Jinn, as was in the ROTS novelization...that was a great scene..

---> AND (and this is the best part) it would be Qui-Gon that gets beheaded by anakin at the start of Episode3 (hehe).
anakin would be killing the very person who discovered him and made him a Jedi back in Episode1.
that scene would be a LOT more powerful
             i LOVE that idea man!

Let's please not give George Lucas any more incentive to go back and tinker with the movies.  He's probably aching to put Jar Jar in the duel on Mustafar or something.... ::) :-\  However, I would love to see what could've been had the PT been given some sort of depth, but what's done is done and we have to accept it for what it is (and isn't).

Overall though....we all have to admit...it was AWESOME! i thought it was a little dark....and evil..and cruel...but as George himself said "The battle on Mustafar is supposed to represent xxx."

That whole adding qui-gon in eps 2n3 is awesome. Would have added a lot more emotion. And we are all forgetting that Obi-wan would have to take on his former master how intense would that be. Plus i think that saber duel at the end of episode 2 was not very good. I mean Obiwan who killed maul, mamed Anakind, lasts like 2 minutes against Dooku. Anakin i understand cuz he wasnt in his prime but Obi-Wan was. But imagine a good intense duel Qui-Gon vs. Obi-Wan and Anakin till his arm his hacked off.

Indeed, it would've been amazing to see Obi-Wan duelling Qui-Gon on Geonosis.  Instead, we end up with some random guy named Dooku and a story that lacks any cohesiveness.  Anyone else find it disturbing that people are coming up with better ideas here than Lucas's entire staff at Lucasfilms? :-\

Yes, its really weak..When I read Qui Gon originaly was suppose to live on and be who Dooku was, I was blown away! It wouldve added so many layers and made things much more interesting..  Lucas is a tard at times, his ego likely got in the way of accepting Spielbergs offer to cowrite and direct. Star Wars wouldve surely reached a whole other level of awesomeness. And I know some Lucas's employees had to have better ideas for the story, but no one probably had the guts to voice it to the oh so great and genius GL.. :-X

Heres the only reason i see in not doin the whole Qui-Gon betrayal thing. I think some of you will agree. Now if qui-gon did live, leave the order and start the separitist movement, that would have been one of the main stories in the PT. The PT's story is about how Anakin came to be Vader thats why Lucas made it. LUcas really wanted to tell this story. and having qui-gon become such a big deal would have stolen some of the focus from the main plot ( anakin->Vader). So although it would have been a VERY GOOD story. I understand leaving it out because its not that story we're meant to focus on its Anakin's.  Just my opinion on why he left it out.
