First off,

Happy New Year!

We started this saber a few months ago, but got entangled in other builds, Master Jedye painstaking visited the shrouds in his spare time. This morning, I had nearly all the wiring complete and was hoping to post this afternoon. However, being on Midnight Shift, I had to crawl in bed at a reasonable hour to be up and ready for work.

I took this saber in with me to complete, mostly just finishing up on the battery pack and cable management. While the bulk was completed in 2009, the final "fine tuning" was completed after midnight, 01/01/10.

This saber is loosely based on the Mortal Kombat Character Scorpion. Multi-shroud element using brass tubing, powder coated in a clear gloss as well as mirror black shroud parts.

The soundboard is a Luke ROTJ driven by a 6v battery pack.
Premium TCSS Speaker.
White U-Bin P4 LED
Deep Straw Lee Filter.
Emerald Jewel on the blade holder
Special edition Gemini Concepts blade Holder Plug (safety plug)

This is first of a few "themed" sabers we currently have in works, stick around throughout this year, we gotz some fairly interesting "concepts" coming up.   ;) ;)

Enough jibber-jabber, on to the Pictures!

I believe MJ has a few "in-build" pictures to show as well, but we'll let that be another post further in the topic. It was an interesting build and fun project!

And of course, the Video!

For everything you gain, you lose something else.

How "Freedom of Speech" works:  you have the freedom to say whatever you want, BUT you also have the freedom to suffer the consequences

Dream Big, Build Bigger.

Awesome job on the overlays gentlemen.  I think it's one of your more complicated patterns.

2nd most complex  ;)  BARRISS' Fluent was the most complex.  I still have nightmares.  *shutter*

This is an awesome design bringing back pleaseant memories of my favorite character from the original MK game.  This would rock if it had the CF in it to toggle a "Get Over Here" sound effect.  hehe...   ;D

Really, it's an amazing design and your eye for detail is astounding.

I bet that was fun cutting those overlays!  The first thing that popped into my head when I saw the pictures wasn't Scorpion from MK,  but a Yellowjacket.... ;)

Can you say "Get over here"?  ;D

Seriously, if you have a Scorpion-themed saber, you need to have a Sub-Zero one as well. It's only fair. :)

That is an awesome saber, MJ your dremel fu is very strong. You two have really outdone yourselves and i have to agree that a sub-zero saber should partner it....along with a reptile if we are goin classic MK  :D

Truly amazing, although you might want to watch how high you set the bar in the beginning of the year.   ;)
