Saberproject, the first German website about lightsabers and show team is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year!
For our celebration we invited the great Nick Gillard, known for his work as stunt coordinator of the Prequels and his cameo role as Cin Drallig in ROTS.
So we hang out with him for a weekend, had an exclusive "master class", where he showed and teached us some valueable things. He told us a lot of interesting stories and we recorded a 30min interview with him, which you can watch here.
Starting with his early career we follow his work in movie business. Did you know that he also worked on Indiana Jones, Superman and Alien and turned down Lord of the Rings and Harry Potter?
Of course we asked a lot about Star Wars and lightsabers, too. There is some great insight into lightsaber choreographies, the seven or better nine forms of lightsaber combat and much more.
Enjoy this in-depth talk with this down-to-earth guy!
Additionally you can find a short report and pictures of our celebration-weekend here:

Awesome interview!
Very informative about the man, his career and his philosophy on lightsabers and lightsaber fighting which has some good lessons for all of us...BRAVO!!!
-
Thanks!
I especially like the part where he talks about the nine(!) forms of lightsaber combat and the whole idea behind it.
-
I enjoyed this video too. Most interesting development of lightsaber fighting is due to precuels and this man made a great job.

Great interview! Thank you for sharing. Nick Gillard seems to be one of the more well adjusted former Star Wars contributors.

Thanks for posting the vid! Gillard is a really laid-back dude- really nice to hear his thoughts specifically.
