Title: Vader ESB - TCSS Aluminum Blade Holder - 3W Luxeon Review

 Here is my review of the MRFX ESB Vader with a TCSS conversion kit and a 3W luxeon I did myself. I got the saber from Ebay for $60 shipped. It was supposed to be a floor model with light wear, I got a brand new one sealed! I orderd the TCSS conversion shortly after Tim got them back in stock.  The only other FX saber I have handled is the Anakin and I was really disappointed at its quality compared to my Luke Graflex. The overall quality of the Vader seems to be alot better as well.

Overall installation was easy, thanks to the tutorial, and the only problem I really had was the cotter pin removal in the on/off assembly. Adding the alum blade holder made the hilt quite a bit heavier, I shaved the blade down to 34" , installed a mirror and some mylar. It  doesnt have any play in the hilt... its rock solid! Two inches off the blade makes a difference imo, and I like it better.

Nice one, GanJahMan. I plan to lux convert my Vader soon, so it is nice to know that it will turn out good.  ;)

I recently converted my Ani ROTS and was pleased with the result, so I know that Tim at TCSS makes quality components.

I just finished the conversion. I am every bit as pleased with this one as I was with my Ani ROTS conversion, if not more so. It makes the perfect complement to my Luke ESB graflex luxeon. I now plan to do more luxeon conversions.  ;)  :)

I so want to get my Vader converted, but I have yet to hear back from anyone who can do the conversion.

take my advice, get it converted. the TCSS kits are as good as you can get. you will NEVER break the blade holder since it is almost 1cm thick aluminum. that is the one downfall to ultra's kits, you can still crack the stock blade holder in heavy dueling

I have a Equinox (JSS) Mace ROTS with an aluminum blade holder. They are rock solid.

equnix and ultra currently use the tcss blade holder  ;)
those things won't EVER break
