That is a good question. Depends if you really want to clean it up and sell it, or display it or go through with utilizing it. Master Qui-Gon, I have to do some spring cleaning like I mentioned about my Rec Room last night (I think it was with you on ORA) but I may found some surprises that may "sound" good to your ears! ;) Give me a week to go through the rooms.

If you really want to go for its "original spirit", then I think a real Graflex would be the answer.
I mean, this is basically where it "comes" from.

I don't really like replicas in general (prefer original designs) but with this one... this is where it all started :)

ooooOOOOHHHHHH, ...sounds like someone found some MR boards!!

While I like the original Graflexes, .....and really believe every star wars fan should TRY to get one, ...I also think that MR did a pretty good job in capturing the look.

MR boards???  Always on the lookout ;)

MR did a nice job, but it the same old thing.  You get what you pay for.  YODA's graflex is the epitome of replicas.  Anything else will be second best ;)

Love the MR Luke ANH, I painted sections of it black and gave it a Silver LED and a violet filter, it is one of my favorite hilts of my collection.

I love mine, and here's the story behind mine:

The Star Wars exhibition recently went through my local Science Museum, and I naturally went to go see it - twice.  The first time, I went with a friend of mine, and we walked though the exhibit, looking at all the props (I liked the Star Destroyer from ANH, and he walked right over to the Millennium Falcon) and at the end of the exhibit, in the gift shop, I first came into the presence of FX lightsabers.  I'd been looking for sabers for a long time, and wasn't really comfortable ordering any offline (I was 15), and there were some sabers there, on a rack, for $70.00, brand new..  I wanted one, but I had no money.  So, I returned with my family, and I wanted to pick up a Luke ANH.  However, when I arrived in the gift shop, there were only Yoda FX sabers left.  I was disappointed, but then, I looked up, at the costumes mounted up above the main part of the shop, and lo and behold, there was a Luke ANH displayed on the wall, 40 feet up.  I asked whether it was for sale (it was, the exhibit was leaving in two days), and an employee went and got a ladder and took the saber down, boxed it up, and sold it to me for $70.00.  That's my Luke ANH story, and I still love it.  Even if it creaks. ;)

I wouldn't trade any thing for my Skywalker Lightsaber made by Icons.  It'll never have a blade, but it's as accurate as any other replica I've seen.  I got it when it came out and it was my first saber.

I voted YES it is worthy.

I love the Graflex and custom saber versions of the LUKE ANH out there of course.
The (stock) MR FX was my 1st real collectable saber too.  ;D
I think the stock version is a great value for what you get.

I even have an UltraSabers Cyan LUX III conversion LUKE ANH.
It just brings back great childhood memories.  ;D

I've recently been working on Luke ANHs in general, to convert some.  I've been inside two, and they're really quality pieces of machinery.  I also like how it looks aesthetically - and besides, this is THE lightsaber, the very first one we ever saw - and, I believe, the last lightsaber (I know, it was Anakin ROTS, but it's the same lightsaber...) seen in Episode III.

It seems that the luke ANH is a fitting end for the MR FX sabers. "let's end where we started, and we can begin a new."
Kinda like an anniversary saber, only it's a funeral saber.

It's an interesting one, all right.  And it probably won't ever be retooled - even if you don't like it, you'll agree that the Luke ANH is a quality product.

The graflex. It only seems to work against blasters and against curved hilts.  :-\
