CSJ Propsâ„¢

RussRep V2 with Igniter Miniâ„¢

Hello folks,

This saber was sent to me a while back from Industrial Action with the intent being that I help him out with the install on this hilt so that he could focus more on new NECâ„¢ products that were still in the development stage at the time.

After the initial install was complete there were a few aspects of the electronics that I wasn't happy with, so this saber was actually completely overhauled again and rebuilt using different components.  I have to give credit where credit is due and I would be severely remiss if I did not say that Darth Ryo was an inspiration on this saber.  Having seen the way that he had installed some of the components into his own hilt I was inspired to try things from a different apprach than what I was originally working with.

Now, without further ado, here is the part you guys ACTUALLY care about.  ;)

I'm very happy with the end result of this saber! The piece can be completely accurate with the blade plug in or slightly less accurate with a blade inserted. I was worried when I got the empty from Russ it would never get lit. Glad to see I was worried about nothing :D

Nicely done...though I still struggle with the multi color character specific saber its still cool.

Thanks, that means a lot, I've been following your own build thread closely in anticipation.

That is why I chose to keep the first font completely stock.  Standard blade colour, socially acceptable clash colour, and no extra audio effects.

That way the initial font is what you expect a Luke V2 to look and sound like.

But, the ability to have a little fun with it and maybe do a blue ROTJ movie poster version with it is still there in order to keep things interesting.

I definitely get where MH is coming from. If I bought the saber, I, personally, would probably make every font have a green main blade and then have fun with it from there. That's the beauty of options though, right? Easy to change up if desired.

yep I get it and didn't mean for it sound negative (hope it wasn't taken that way)...just personal taste is all.  It is a nicely done build though for sure.  That also gives you the option of having the blue blade (which I always thought was cool too) like you said.

I really like to see all the different ways people are building these RR sabers.  My next one (the one I am keeping and that will have a crystal chamber) will be different from the one I am doing now.  Its funny I didn't like the V2 when I first started in this hobby (hero only for me then) because I wasn't big on weathered sabers but it grew on me and it is really my favorite saber now (and has been for a while) simply because there are so many different takes on it.  Anyway enough rambling lol.

Good luck with the sale btw.

I've always been a big V2 fan, those RR hilt were challenging and that's great to see many different version indeed.
I too will rework mine to add a crystal chamber and a better led module for a brighter blade ^^

Great work on that one anyway ;)

+1 for the V2!  It's great to see so many here have their own take on it.  And this is a really awesome rendition!

That came out awesome. Great work to all involved!

The V2 certainly has come a long way from the MR-modded and MHS-only days. It's great to see more and more of these out there now.

Oh and for the record...the V2 has ALWAYS been my favorite saber.  ;)

I have to admit.  I've been waiting patiently to see what you would have to say about it Mark.  Glad you like it.  :)
