The Story:
Well what an i say bout the Mace?This is a weird story. I got my mace a wierd way. I got my mace from MR and i was set for a while. I got my Mace a few days later and put in 6 AA batteries. I turned it on to see a purple blade, but no sound. :o. I tried many batteries but still no luck. I sent it back and it took about a week and a half to get it there. Then i waited a few weeks and gave MR a call. and they said they forgot about it. I waited a month and then i still had nothing. i called again and theysaid they forgot about it again! >:( >:( >:( >:(. I finally got it after a few days later. I opened it up and took off the plastic bag and again put in batteries. I turned it on to see the same blade, but with a muffled sound...
The Hilt:
I like the hilt. The gold is really dark and admirible. Its the heavyness and the bulkiness that turned me off. Its good from far away, and has nice detail though. I love the look of it. MR did a nice job. The ingraved pattern on the black rubber turned me back on ;) :D.It is indedd the best looking hil next to the Maul and Luke ESB.
Is that me in the background?The on/off switch is the middle gold rectangular piece. It slides up to turn on,, and down to turn off.
The sound:
The sound is indeed muffled and about the same volume as the Vader. The on/off sounds are perfectly in tune with the saber. One HUGE problem i have with the sound is that MINE(not nessaceraly everone elses) is that it plays the same sounds in the same exact row ever time i turn it on. It goes double, short, double, long, short, long, and then some more. I've seen this problem with Louis's Luke ESB some Mace vids on youtube, and chancellors Mace AOTC. if anyone has this problem, then post here.
The Blade:
The blade is a beauty all its own. Its a very nice pure purple. Its my favorite FX blade. It does have a few splothches. It looks awesome if only u look at it from the top or bottom. if not, the u will see red lines about ---- that big going up the blade. This is due to blue LED's being wrapped by a red tubing. cause red+blue+purple. DUH!Its very bright next to Anakin. Not Luke ;)But then, again no blade is safe against Luke ROTJ.
All-in-all:
I love my Mace. definatly on my top 3 list. Its not perfect for a first saber. (Due to flaws.) :-\ Its a perfect display piece and good for any fan of SW. I will cherish it and never get it converted. Its good the way it is. cause no matter how hard i try. i cant get rid of the sound flaw.
