Generic Obi style twinroses garb for me with custom made leather belt by me.  Sporting my Yoda graflex.
Wife was Leia ANH
older son was Anakin with red Oppressor.  (Thanks again Nightwing)
younger padawan was sporting a custom jedi suit made by his aunt

We were at our church's harvest party.  I spent most of the night on the sidewalk drawing attention.  EVERYONE wanted to check out the graflex.  They were amazed when I opened it up to show off the drilled quartz chassis.  A couple of moms wanted to know if it was the one they saw at Spencer's.  :D :D :D

Overall the night was a huge success and the "Star Wars Family" was a huge hit.  Oddly of the several hundred I saw in costume, there were no other SW characters but us.  ???

Definitely agree... Star Wars costumes turn the most heads imo, plus it seems like we all tend to be real sticklers about the quality of gear we use.

QFT!

My wife was getting mad because we had to stop a few times because people wanted to take pictures with us.  And then with the sabers... well, CHEWBACCA began to feel like he was on "Sales Calls".  ;D

we went to a huge mall with thousands of people, and the same thing happened to us: random strangers posing for pictures.

I was like.. "ok, you want a picture with me?..  what..? no..?  you want me to hold your camera..? you want a picture with the Avatar girl? uhm.. ok."  ::)
*click*

-->  I was out-costumed!  my brother-in-law's GF was wearing a skin-tight catsuit with blue face paint.  she was the girl from Avatar. she had all kinds of home-made accessories (necklace with feathers, etc).  for the make-up, she covered her entire face in shimmering blue eye-shadow.  she was spot-on. she did a really good job.  to the point where..  nobody even noticed I was in costume.  ::) (I was han solo -- next to her, I looked like I was wearing street-clothes) *sigh*

We did our now annual church "lite the nite" party last week.  It was a great time of games and fun.  We had a steady flow of trick or treaters come through as we set up right on the front lawn next to the sidewalk and a steady flow of kids for two plus hours.

We went with last years costumes since we all loved them.  We had a few improvements. My son got some awesome boots I found off eBay.  I upgraded with leather pouches, food capsules and new boots from jdos productions.

There's a formula for a good Halloween, no matter where you live.

1. Friends
2. Costumes
3. Booze

Mix well until Drunk.

Candy optional.

No no no, the candy is NOT optional.  It's a necessity.  Helps the recovery process the next day.

I was planning on doing Raistlin Majere from the Dragonlance world this year but I didnt get it completed. Hers what I got so far:

Still need to pick up gold body paint and a white wig and finish the Staff of Magius.

Went out with my wife and nephew all sporting our Jedi robes. Will post pics once I get them...

I hadn't thought of that series for ages!  nice work!

Ah the dragonlance chronicles.  I remember reading those for the first time in 1st grade and finishing everything Tracy White had touched in 2nd grade and waiting for new novels to come out.  A good read.  I think I like the tale of Huma the most although the brothers Majere series was good as well.  I saw someone do the costume before and he had contact lenses made to match the description and pictures of Raistlin

Time will bring the real end of our trial.  One day they'll be no remnants

I always love when a great halloween comes along. This year was excellent with four of us handmaking our costumes. We went as X-MEN!!! and it turned out awesome. The characters we chose are the ones that we've had as nicknames thoughout our lives. I am Archangel, with custom built wings, then we also had Colossus, Gambit, and Dazzler which I thought was really original. Check them out and let me know what you think!
