I know this is an ancient topic, but since I got the ball rolling with "mini-reviews" of DH's KOTOR series, I'll keep on going. Besides, I just received the Vol. 6 of the albums, Vindication, which concludes the main story arc started in Vol. 1.
There's no official Volume 5 in KOTOR album lineup, because that part of the story belongs in Vector arc. So, I had my doubts how well that would fit in the main KOTOR storyline. But I was positively surprised, because it actually fits there quite well and the writers have managed to put a whole lot sense in that sidetrack. The artwork in Vector sidetrack is "a little bit" different to rest of the Weaver & Ching dominated KOTOR series, but after few frames it doesn't look that offbeat anymore. The Vector Vol. 1 also includes two chapters of Dark Times saga and even though they don't contribute much for KOTOR story, they are still good reading. I give the unofficial "Vol. 5" good 8/10!
The Vol. 6 concludes the padawan murder case and unravels lots of mysteries in really fast pace. It tells us who are the bad guys, who are good guys and what kind of motives & backgrounds drive them. Actually, the only thing bothering me is the fast pace: while especially in volumes 2 and 3 the story went far off to different sidetracks, but now it feels like it's on fast-forward mode. Then again, nothing vital is left unexplained and the ending makes sense. Still there's just perfect amount of questions left unanswered and some very interesting issues brought up for future volumes. Perhaps I'd wished to see the ending done by some other artist than Brian Ching, because his work is a bit "messy" looking in many ways. It works well in other stories, but in this part of the story it looks maybe a bit bland. In general, though, I'd rate Vindication for 9.5/10!
