Hi all, I’m so thrilled to be able to share this epic lightsaber and my journey with you all. This project began for me about a year ago. I absolutely loved the Luke’s Graflex ESB with Yoda Crystal Chamber Chassis however, I’ve always been a Vader fan!  Thus began my journey for a MPP Microflash ESB Vader with Crystal Chamber Chassis. This project started to really get momentum when Sanjuro offered his Crystal Chamber run last June. After that I was lucky enough to get my hands on a Vintage MPP Microflash in August from a seller in England. Once the MPP was in hand, it was time to find the right smith, and it didn’t take very long for me to decide on Daren from JQ. Seeing all of his excellent work and ‘Galaxy’ class Vader he had auctioned a few month earlier I know he was the right smith!  :). After waiting patiently in queue for my hilt to hit the bench, in my opinion Daren had achieved greatness  ;D He debuted the Vader with, as Clark would put it, its evil twin here http://www.fx-sabers.com/forum/index.php?topic=39551.msg530988 and though he showed me teaser pic along the way .. it was my first glimpse of the lightsaber in action!

For those of you who might not know (I wasn't) unlike the Graflex the MPP is on piece and doesn't come apart in the middle, most probably why there hasn't been many crystal chambers. Also, finding a vintage MPP is very hard, I only ever seem two for sale, one of which I bought :). When they do go for sale they aren't cheap so when I had asked Daren to cut it in half I had hesitations at first, but the way it turned out I couldn't be more pleased!!

wow! I know this is an old thread. im not trying to bring it back to life but i just had to say that, that flash used to be mine. I have all the serial numbers of every mpp that went thru my hands documented and that is one of them. i double checked. its nice to see it looking so great and in a good home. A tid bit of info. that mpp was issued to military personnel. i couldn't find any real specifics but it for sure spent its early career in the war. this is research i did about 15 years ago when i had that mpp in my hands. with the internet what it is now i can only imagine what you might be able to find out about it now.

It looks like it unscrews from the graflex side by pic.

Just revisiting this tread ... That's an awesome history of the MPP, it just adds to the nostalgia of the saber. I'll defiantly need to see if I can find more on it.

The hilt is solid and can be dueled with. It unscrews at the bottom on the clamp
