Five to six-hour Saber Combat workshop comin' to the San Jose / Santa Clara area in late September...

* Weekend thing
* Prizes TBD, but it will either be new LED sabers or gift certs toward sabers...
* Probably decent discounts off of NCSCS DVDs...
* Everyone will walk away with a small special gift/prize/etc.
* Possibly T-Shirts (hard to say this early into things)
* All sabers for the workshop will be provided (unless you have your own, you're welcome to use it)

Well, people WERE talking that they wanted a Cali camp to happen... back when I was suggesting the 2012 summer camp.

Thing is... the summer camp would have taken several organizers, which didn't end up happening, so... I hope this one is a better "California" choice.

How much do these workshops usually run someone?

I don't know precisely what the costs will be at the moment, but it won't be something berserk.    Won't be $50, won't be $500, neither lol!

I want to make it a fairly in-depth, "long" workshop though... so that it's not just "a few moves" and it's over.  I will explain more details about what the workshop will include in short time, but--the plan is to have everyone walking away with some footy(!) of their work... primarily, paired work!    The "perks" are also to have some materials and prizes goin' on.  Again--more on that later, though...

In general, as for this particular thread... I am looking to see what the interest is from Cali bay area folks (or anyone who is in the CA area during that time in September).

Oh, don't APOLOGIZE, heheh!    I just wanted to see if there was interest, and... I figured people wouldn't expect that I'd be saying: "This camp is $600", lol.  It's just a day thing, so it won't break the bank.

At the same time--there is no way I could afford to do:

* Prizes
* Rent
* My time & instruction
* Provide the sabers
* Provide ability to get HD footy of the campers/attendees work

...for $50 or something.  lol... so... it will neither be an insane cost nor a "cheap" one.

You guys know I would love to do something like this... San Jose is quite the drive, not to mention the cost of the workshop... This would be fun, not to mention the opportunity to get to meet members from the Saber Community.

Edit: Just want to clarify though, I totally understand you'd have to charge for a workshop like this... I'm just saying with my current financial situation (broke) I couldn't orchestrate something like this unless I win the lottery sometime in the near future.

All I gotta say is: You attend this workshop, you're going to walk away with a plethora of skill and knowledge. You will be a different saberplayer when you leave that day.
