No ,George has simply lost interest in doing a live action series ,why would he when Clone Wars keeps his "product" in the market place , and if he keeps fidlling around with the originals he's got a hobby to keep him happy.

last I heard HBO said it would be far to expensive to make with todays technology and it would be re-evaluated in 5 years, and that was about a year ago

i dont think we'll see much in the way of SW after the clone wars show is over. we'll see games and of course re-releases of the movies on every new platform available and the countless toy lines following each re-release. but in the ways of new material, probly not til Uncle George has passed and his control over the franchise is passed to someone else.

can't see this anytime soon and by that i mean thick end of a decade if at all, another trilogy would be the best bet for new star wars product as they could run in a new direction now BUT well george is probably devoid of any worthwhile new story ideas.

Maybe a short web series, some day in the future... I can't figure out why Star Trek and BSG have had so many series from the eighties till now (all full of CGI etc.) and still Star Wars cannot have his own TV-show!

Star wars and Trek were built on different audiences.  Star Wars is more action/adventure and Trek is more of a character dynamics base series.

I have to say that as much as I'd like to see a Star Wars TV show,  I can't ever see it happening, especially not the more adult-oriented one that most people (myself included) would like to see.

I just don't see George Lucas okaying something like that.

I read an interview with Rick Mccallum, Unca George's SW producer some time ago that the series would now be pushed to the 2014-15 at least due to increased costs, ever evolving story lines, finding the right network, etc. If we see it ever happen, it will be another 3 yrs or so, IMO.

I think now with Disney purchasing the rights I'm Possitive we see a tv show very soon. Lets face it, it's all about marketing and money, and Disney has plenty of that. Now Lucas will be forced to relinquish his overall control and the result will be LOTS of Star Wars stuff coming to our Galaxy.

He wasn't forced...he's retiring.  He's stated himself his only ties to Star Wars will be creative input.  Since the story is his it's only logical that you let the man have some input as to where the story goes.
