Thanks guys , I used a technique that I did a tutorial thread on here awhile back, I used caustic soda( drain cleaner lye to eat away , pit & blister the aluminum, one mistake I learned from though: if possible  you acid bath before any final machining (losing .10-.12 of an inch changes things ) the final finish takes birchwood caseys aluminum black very well to  highlight the pitting.

great starkiller!   :oi'm also digging the colourchanging option with the igniter in this... works fine with starkillers different crystals! so definately a good idea to go with it!  :)
@ LordBlako, I've been watching that thread of the one your building & am getting some good inspiration,(especially your chamber build) I'm now working on plans for another saber, & I might have a tough time topping this one. I am waiting on another set of batteries, (just sent an order to tcss) it appears that the trustfires I got online are defective, the saber got about 15 min. of fun went dead & would not take a charge (checked the wiring, it's all good  ) had a similar thing happen on one of my stunts, battery worked great, tested at 3.8 volts & lived a short life in the hilt, ahhhh the impatience of waiting on parts youve already bought once (disclaimer;I didnt get the defective sets from tcss :'(

thanks mate... i'm very pleased about giving some inspiration to other sabersmiths with my build... (even though i think your crystal chamber looks very different to mine :D ) it's nice to see that i can give some input to others, because everything i know about building a saber, i learned from this community and its great members... so it's really satisfying to give something back...  :)

what i've read so far, the trustfires are a sub-optimal battery solution and most people prefer AWs or Panasonics... correct me if i'm wrong with this claim... but waiting for new material is xxx... i know that for sure...  ;)

anyway, i wish you good luck with your new build... i'm excited how it will turn out...  :)

This is the reason I'm going to use more Igniter boards, I have had other ones & had a heck of a time setting up my sd card. The Igniter lets you play with a whole slew of settings & see them real time before putting the card back in the saber, I just finished loading a bunch of fonts from Phoenix Jedi's CD & am loving the customizations!!! Video soon to follow!

First rate work! That pitted, weathering is fantastic, some of the best I've  seen. I also saw the vids on your Jedi and Sith Katana hilts, they look amazing, especially the leather wrapped Jedi version.

Once again thanks alot! I have a couple of other projects i can get to now (like finishing up my copper Katana, & redoing the battery pack in my green dueling Katana (I'm considering putting this one up for auction on here, think there would be much interest??

This one has the best balance & handling that I have seen/felt/created it runs a 10watt GGGG Ledengin at1000ma on a 14.8 volts li-ion pack with recharge port & latching switch in the pommel

That's a sweet ninja/Sith saber, but if you put up a Jedi katana with the diamond/suba pattern, I'd check that out  in an auction! Love that Eye of Sauron Blade plug as well!
