Hey guys just had a mate ask me about this and i've never heard of it before.
His hasbro Luke ROTJ turns on just fine at full brightness and within 30 seconds has faded to nothing...
Any thoughts or ideas?

I don't have sound where I am so can't hear the video - does the sound cut out too and have the same fade down?

My saber with the joejedi in it does this when the batteries are flat, although the sound keeps going I just lose the LED, I presume because the LED uses a lot more mA than the sound and the batteries are just falling below the mA threshold required to light the LED.

It looked to me in the video that it came back on after u shook it and tapped the floor? If that's true I would think it's some sort of connection issue. Batteries are new and not Dollar Store batteries right?

clean battery connectors, then use fresh batteries. would be the first think I would do to troubleshoot that issue I think.

He's tried new batteries, the connection issue is what i was thinking aswell but i can't think what sort of connection issue would be causing it :/
The sounds stays on perfectly fine the whole time

it will be a bad connection somewhere... i had one like this and in the end i just gave up and decided to convert it

that's strange ,,, the LED strip is receiving plenty of power AT START UP and the strip leds are obviously fine ,,, fresh quality batteries would also be my call but its been tried , yep i also noticed that shaking it seemed to boost the blade .... all i could look at would be the connections and if these proved to be OK then i could only guess it is a component failure on the main board.

I'm thinking yeah it's a dodgy connection SOMEWHERE along the line.
I suggested to him that unless he wants to break the whole thing down to try and pinpoint then fix the bad connection then his best bet is to have it converted
