It should be. Maybe you get someone else who wants to have the GGW, so you save shipping costs.

I think I shall get a few amber emitters later.

Good things come to those who wait. We finally finished the shop. From now on you can get the LEDs from here: http://shop.saberproject.de/index_e.html

I got my Triple Force LED GGR and wired them up for a comparison with a LedEngin RGGB

I try to be as scientific as possible, down to using the same saber for both LED, same blade, and a camera with full manual controls.

The saber is an MHS Luke V2 with a PC1.5 (my CF is with MH for repairs) with a thin wall transparent blade with about six feet of wrap.

I am driving both LEDs using the same settings at 1.5A. Both LEDs are wired GG parallel.

I took two different levels of exposure for comparison.

Top picture is Triple Force, bottom picture is LedEngin

You can tell that the Triple Force is brighter and produces a more even blade.

While the brightness difference between the two is not huge, the evenness of the light is where Triple Force win hands down.

I tested another RGGB I had to make sure there is no brightness issue and that one is even worse. One of the Green die is obviously a different bin  >:(

So I had to go with this RGGB. At least both Green dies are the same bin.

To be fair, The LedEngin is not driven at the optimally (only 750mA per die) but at the same time, so is the Triple Force. I will do another test with both LEDs driven at 2A when my CF comes back.

One noticeable difference is the Triple Force produces less heat than the LedEngin. I guess that means they are using less current to achieve the same power.

Overall the Triple Force LED is really promising. The shade of green is surpringly similar to the LedEngine.

Great comparison!  Apples to apples as much as possible :).  I think the Tris, both rebels and Triple Force are a great alternative for solid colors.  The red Tri-rebel we used recently was awesomely bright!

In this particular comparison, keep in mind the difference is that a LEDEngin CAN be driven at 1500 ma per die (some people have gone as high as 2A :o, although I'd rather stay at or below 1500 to be safe), whereas the CREEs max out at 1000.  750 ma is the bare minimum for a LEDEngin, while 350 ma is the minimum for a CREE.  So you are driving the CREE at it's "sweet spot" whereas the LEDEngin is saying , "I need more powah! :D"

Also, I have found that the solid color LEDEngins are more consistently bright whereas some of the greens on the RGGBs are less impressive :-\.

Thanks so much Aur-Elion for your comparison shots!

Do you ever have tested the difference between GG/BB serial @ 1.X vs. GG/BB parallel @ 2A?
Will there be a big difference in brightness (parallel)?
I know there typical is one on the ledengin because of its fV, but since its lower on the triple force maybe there isnt (enough power of a 7.2-7,4 v pack for two in series)?!

Anyway I just ordered a GGR from saberproject and when I have wired everything up I make a quick FoC video to show if its movieaccurate :)

What is the best setting on a CF for a GGW ran in series? How much can you safely overdrive them?  Thank you

You can drive them safely with 1000mA. The LED should be bright enough so it's not necessary to overdrive it.

Thank you, can someone look at my config file for my CF below? It is not driving it as nearly as bright as my PC1.5 is( not sure of the settings on the PC1.5, Hoping Kit will chime in as he did the install ;) )
