Vader's Vault Havoc and Fury review!
« on: March 31, 2012, 07:13:44 PM »
Hey guys, I'm proud to present my two latest sabers to my collection :)

So as I was thinking about the sabers I both currently own and will soon be getting from multiple runs, and I noticed that they were all high end CF sabers. Some of these I will NEVER duel with, and others I will, but have to be careful with and only allow myself light clashes and a bit of spinning. What was missing, was a pair of sabers that I could really duel with and not hold back so much. I then realized that I had never actually really dueled at all with sabers... I had been eyeing off some VV stunts for quite a while now, but held off. The reason for that is, Arod Megil was being worked on last year, and that was to be my fiances first purple saber. You see, she has a love of purple that rivals VV's own Luminara :P So rather than getting her one of these stunts and that being the first purple saber she saw in person, I wanted that to be Arod Megil. Once we received that saber, I was good to go with getting some stunts :)

As always, VV provided their amazing customer service and helpful ideas with any questions I had. In Australia, batteries tend to be quite expensive...I really realized that once I saw and heard of prices in the states for them. I plan on using these a lot, so I was concerned that I would be forever buying batteries for them. Not to worry though, Luminara came up with a great solution :)

Unfortunately, my good camera is being repaired at the moment, so I had to settle for using my iPhone. The pictures are okay I guess, I will be taking more though once I get my camera back. Here's what I managed to do with the iPhone:

Vader's Vault Havoc Stunt
TORange blade
Orange illuminated AV switch
18650 rechargeable battery pack setup with access through the pommel
32" VV dual diffused blade

Vader's Vault Fury Stunt
OSPP blade
White illuminated AV switch
18650 rechargeable battery pack setup with access through the pommel
32" VV dual diffused blade

Yesterday I went and bought some polish and gave these both a nice mirrored finish. They were already shiny to begin with, but this really made them look a lot shinier! Not sure how it looks compared to the others on camera, but in person they look awesome. Here's them all polished up:

I literally haven't put these down since I received them :D I knew they were going to be amazing, and was extra excited as I knew I'd be able to duel with them. With that being the case, I was still blown away by just how incredible they are! The Havoc is my personal one, and the Fury is my fiances personal saber. We instantly both loved our own ones, which worked out really well :D The machining on these sabers is of such high quality, giving them a sleek yet elegant look. I really love the pommels on them both, especially the Havoc. The overall look of the Havoc is totally my kind of saber. Mace told me that I was going to love the TORange blade, and that he is really loving it in his builds at the moment. It is possibly my favourite colour, and after seeing it in a saber, it could well be my favourite saber colour. VV have made their shade of orange just look like the perfect orange colour possible. It definitely rivals how perfect they have made their OSPP colour ;) My fiance of course always just wants purple, which is fine with me as I'm a huge fan of purple too. Before the sabers arrived, I was thinking how cool an orange and purple saber would look dueling against each other. They really do look amazing together, great contrasting colours. The Vader's Vault blades are perfect as always to duel with, and look great with the pointed tips. They really can take a beating too :P Both the TORange and OSPP are REALLY bright too. They don't show up on camera just how bright they are, but it really lights the room up.

I've been spinning with these sabers A LOT since I got them, and they are just balanced perfectly and made for spinning. I was using the Havoc the whole first night I got it, and just loved the way it handled. The second day I had them, I gave the Fury a test drive. Initially I was a bigger fan of the Havoc like I said, but after having a good spin and play around with the Fury, I can honestly say that it is every bit as perfect as the Havoc to spin. It's smoother look and feel make for it to be an incredible saber to spin, with nothing getting in the way at all. I can close my eyes and pick up either one and be happy to use whichever one I choose. They are both incredible in their own ways.

Now, the battery setup...WOW!!! :o I realize that these don't have sound boards and 10w FoC or Full Powah set ups, but seriously...the runtime is just out of this world! These things just won't die! Luminara told me I'd get around 2 hours runtime per charge, but I honestly believe it is even more than that! So pleased that I went with this setup, and can just recharge once they run out rather than constantly be buying more batteries.

Oh, another use that VV should totally add on their sale thread for these...You get up in the middle of the night, it's pitch black. You don't have a torch handy, and you don't want to feel around for the light switch. There's an easier solution, you reach for your lightsaber...instant torch! I seriously leave them next to my bed at night so I can use them when I need something in the middle of the night. You can either leave the blades in or take them out. Of course though I leave mine in ;) GREAT use right there. No sound board to wake anyone up in the house either.

So as you can tell, I am more than happy with my two VV stunts :D I just want to thank Alan and Deanna for once again being the perfect sellers and providing the best possible customer service and friendliness.

Thanks for reading my review everyone, feel free to leave and questions or comments as always! :)

 8) Awsome review for two awesome sabers mate!
I too have received  a Havoc in OSPP earlier this week, but haven't had the time to post a review. Agreed with the machining, its top notch! And the Havoc is by far my favorite stunt saber!!!
Thats a nice option with the recharchable 18650 cell mate!
lol I also thought about putting it next to my bed to use it as a torch  :D

Thanks mate! Yeah I could tell from talking to you earlier that you too were happy with your Havoc :) I don't think it's possible to not be happy with it though, they're just great, and a steal at the price they are!

I strongly recommend you giving the Fury a go ;) After seeing it in person and giving it a good spin, you realize just how awesome it is! Then you could get the rechargeable set up on that one ;) Plus you could get TORange! :D Guarantee you would be blown away by the orange colour in person, it's truly a sight to see!

I'd love to see a shot with the TORange blade illuminated.  Been thinking of getting one, but I'm torn between purple and orange

Thanks for a great review Dave.  As always, you are such a pleasure to work for :).
