As beautiful as this piece is, would anyone else agree that maybe the crystal should have been placed within those conductor rods near the grip section? It still looks very good where it is, don't get me wrong. It's just my opinion.  :)

no. i think it is where it should be. some sabers even have two crystals. one in the lower section and one in the upper section.

Good point. I forgot to look at it that way. I was probably thinking my thing because I'm thinking of Slothfurnace's Luke ROTJ lightsaber.

I know this would be difficult to convert to a fully functioning saber but I can't imagine it wouldn't be possible to fit
some sort of smaller sound board just for making a few minor sounds like the hydraulic opening sound etc...

Like Novastar's Crystaline Work shop font or something similar.

I'm sure some one will take one apart and figure something out :D
