You just wait for the 3D release of ROTJ.  I bet Dr. Pepper takes that idea for a commercial.  (You remember the old Weird Al' Yankovic song "Yoda"?  ......"I'll be playing this part 'til I'm old and grey." Sorry Mr. Hamill probably more accurate than you'd like to think. Lol.)

 Whoa... That is so awesome! I'd love to have an R2D2 but alas the wife would never go for it...

My R2D2 now has lights and sound!! The same prop building company in Melbourne Florida "Sci-Fi Collectable's" that built my R2D2 developed a lighting logic set of boards to add as an upgrade option to their droid line. These lights can be powered via a battery pack or wall outlet. The light can be turned on/off by a car key style remote control. Knowing this was being developed and wanting to also have sound, I pulled out an old portable cd player I have owned since the early 90's that had a cool feature "Remote Control". I tried to find an MP3 player with a remote but was unsuccessful. I then found 33 high quality r2d2 sounds and added some pauses at the beginning and the end of each sound file for spacing and burn them to an audio cd. This works much better than I expected with the help of some small external speakers. It is great because I can select a specific track from the remote and get the exact sound I want or just let it run by itself in "random" mode with "loop" selected. I hope you approve of my efforts. Very cool! Nice upgrade. It really brings it to life, I can't imagine my C-3PO without electronics...adds to the wow factor when you have guests round too
