New LS6 Hollow sabers in hand ready to send -
« on: December 06, 2011, 02:14:40 AM »
Its Dec 6, 2011 - I just discovered I have 20 Perfectly created all machined aluminum LS6 hollow sabers and I wanted to give this forum a chance to snatch them all up before I off load them to ebay.  These are $265.00 sabers, but FX forum members will get $205 price and Ebay will be $235...

No wait...you pay, I mail next day...the sooner you pay, the more I can guarentee in time for Christmas if you want to give it as a gift...  Hollow meaning it can take LED / LUXEON electronics and sound boards, and a 3/4 inch light up blade, but no electronics are included, just the saber as you see in these photos.

Thanks for letting us a chance for that !!
A question BTW, is it possible to make it accept a 1" blade and put a covertech on it ? Please, please, please :D
Second question is, battle ready hilt or are they more for displaying ?

not possible for 1" blade but sure you could add a covertec.  Just drill, tap and add it.  The are you would put it is pretty thick aluminum so you shouldn't have a problem.

Thanks MH to have partially answered. But anyway, I have not noticed that there was already something to handle it on a belt (triangle)... I am a bit tired lol
Do you know for my 2nd interrogation ? may I use this hilt to duel with ? or is it too "fragile" (it's a big word) due to the thin neck ?

it uses a 3/4 blade.  They are not the greatest for dueling because they are so thin and flimsy.  I think the blade would break before the neck of the saber did.

I am not an expert in the field (MH or another member may be more competent regarding this specific question), but I do a lot of duelling with some of my sabers, and to answer your question, Tywann: actually, if you want to use it as a duel-worthy and duel-proof saber, it will essentially depend on the sturdiness of the internal setup once it is installed (stabilizing structures, foam sheath, protective chassis etc).
What should be avoided is to have components/pieces rattle inside the hilt and bump on each other under the effect of the vibrations propagating throughout the hilt during a duel.
But it is true that thin-necked sabers also need to have sturdy neck sections (it all depends on how it was assembled).  :-\

.   :-\  if something moves around freely in the hilt, the installatiom immediately needs to be redone.

If anything moves around, the installation was done by a noob.   :-\  if something moves around freely in the hilt, the installatiom immediately needs to be regone.

Yes, indeed I agree : I must say that my first experience regarding this specific issue was rather bad (it was a long time ago before I even knew about the existence of this forum): some of my early (custom) sabers (which were made by a seller whose name I won't tell here : suffice it to say "Sab....rge") were not sturdy enough (the internal electronic setup was even faulty and hastily constructed) and they had to be redone completely.  :-\ ;)
