For what it's worth I'm currently working on my first & only CF saber & I've included Instruments of Destruction from the soundtrack album in the iSaber slot (brilliant song, check out the full version of it on youtube). There is an anniversary edition version of the soundtrack album & a collectors edition of the movie on DVD now so no need to pick it up on VHS. The DVD includes both versions of the opening sequence (the Superman credits & the Star Wars crawl) & the original cinematic version includes the scene where Spike swears (which was cut from every VHS & DVD release of the movie until this one). Still a great film, if only the live action film by Michael "I'm going to base a movie on a beloved franchise & ignore almost everything the original fans loved about it" Bay had been half as good as the animated one.
Beware the Mark of the Gungan! :o

One voice quote I remember from the movie - I think it would be a cool boot sound for this font:

It is Optimus Prime who says:

"All we need is a little energon... and a lot of luck."

and they play it twice, once when he says it and once for the Decepticons when the bird/cassette tape/spy robot LaserBeak plays it back for them.

http://www.geocities.ws/prime357/luck.wav  ;)

i worked on a bit and i quite like it so far... i just need to find a well fitting hum ;)

LordBlako you are the man!

That is awesome. Thank you for getting that quote  ;D

@DarthInferis
I thought the way you did for a while, but then I gave those new ones another shot and I think they are pretty good. There are some spectacular sequences in those movies, even though all the small polygonal parts almost gave me a siezure trying to track them all as the robots transformed.
I also think it is good of MB to use the original voice actors and many of the original characters. He sort of just made a '2000's' type of movie with it but most of it stayed the same. It almost seems like the three movies were based on the old 1986 movie in some ways.
Still, the 1986 TF movie can't be beat! That animation was so smooth and good and the soundtrack rocked!

Dude, that is SO awesome! Those sounds are crystal CLEAR.

I plugged my computer into my stereo and those sounds are CRISP.

Nice job with this!  :D  ;D

This sounds like it is turning out like the same high quality as JuanSith's Legends.

Force one should be the junk robots quote.

Force two should be the 'You got the touch!....yeeeaahhh!' plus guitar riff maybe... I don't know I'm so excited about this right now these are just suggestions.. this is great  ;D

It's trailertime for my "Prime" font again!  ;D

There will be the main font and two additional packages with movie and cartoon quotes for force, blaster, power and lockup sounds...  ;)

still not perfectly mixed, but an idea of how it might sound...

Prime - Movie Edition

Prime - Cartoon Edition

what do you think so far?  ???

I think those are awesome!

Something I think should be added to the cartoon version is some short song clips. 'You got the touch' should be an optional add-on for cornballs like me  ;D
Maybe as much as 'You got the touch, you got the powah!' or the 'You got the touch (then short guitar riff)' from the middle of the song. Like I said, that's just me being corny but I love that song.

There is also the song that played in Rocky IV and also Transformers. I think it was in TF first. It is an awesome instrumental that came on whenever you saw the planet eater. I can send it to you if you need it.

Because unlike the live-action movies where I can't even remember there being music,... the 1986 TF movie is like HALF remembered for the music. The music played a huge part in that movie, and I think why a lot of guys who grew up during that time remember this movie so fondly. The soundtrack was very popular back in the day.

Does anyone remember that this is like the only time we see a GIRL transformer!!!?

i'll try my best...  ;)

actually the lockup of the cartoon version is intended to be the transformers theme song!  ;)

btw: anyone knows about the legal aspects of such a soundfont with quotes? my plan is to try to submit the main font to saberfont.com (all sounds royalty free, so commercially distributable) and have the additional packages for free (non-commercial) download?! am i on the legal site with this?  ??? maybe a saberfont author with some experience in this case could help me as i dont want to get in trouble...  ;)

I think that is a whole huge thing that people don't like to talk about... usually posts about this get deleted... but I'm pretty sure it is ok to have quotes as long as you don't sell this font on Amazon.com  ;D

There are movie theme songs and quotes in so many other fonts.. just don't go over GL's house and play it for him. Or in this case... Hasbro or Mattel or whatever company makes TF.

Awesome, Lord B!  :)

And nah, I don't think it's "needed" for a 2nd T-formers font unless I could do it in a way that is *SOOOO* different that it "makes sense".

The last think I personally want to DO (or promote)... is doing the same kind of font over and over.  That said... yeah... if there is some way it can be totally unique, great.  :)  I also PERSONALLY felt pretty limited by it overall, so... I'd be curious as to what you came up with.

Ah, but grrr... never any time for me to ENJOY saber font work (my own neither!!)... and my fencing camp starts in 2 days... yikes!!  Goblins back to work...

acutally there's already link's transform font, but i think mine is significantly different to his one... so i guess it's ok!  ;)

a real pity that you cant enjoy them yourself, but i'm sure there a lot of people out there who do!!! keep up the good work ;)

i'm very excited aswell... especially for the movie and cartoon additions! ;) but it doesnt make sense to work them out, before if know that i dont have to change anything about the main font... would be twice the work...  ;)
