Mate, what I like most about this build log is the videos - I can unerstand you (one Aussie to another) :)
don't need a US accent translator  ;D ;D ;D
you've done very well and I hope this build log inspires others to get in and give it a go

oh and in vid 6 the lighting up of your green LED may have to do with your soldering iron, if it's not ESD (electrostatic discharge) safe
you can google it and have a read, it can be a problem to the point where you can damage components - most soldering stations and irons are ESD safe, but can still be prone to this discharge
if you can have a good rubber mat and an arm in contact with that mat or better still pop on an Anti-static wrist strap to the mat

haha no worries mate. I am wondering how the Americans are going to go at understanding me :p

hmm. I cant find the manual and it doesn't say ESD safe anywhere on the box. also i was wearing a fleece jumper and was laying on the carpet. That could certainly explain it  :o

very nice thanks alot!

One little question though.

Do you use the recharge port just to kill power or do you actually use it to recharge the batteries... if so is it possible to just recharge them in a batteryholder or would the batteryholder get harmed in any way because I saw that you dont use a batterypack... ?

Answer would be greatly appreciated!

Marco :)

I think i may have broken a few rules by doing so but i charge the batteries using the recharge port.
Have not had any issues yet, batteries do not heat up and the $150 smart charger i bought says everything is charging properly.

It does not always add up to a problem... one of my personal MHS sabers is running with a battery holder (CF4.1 for more then 3 years now) and it's been recharged in the 100s through a recharge port and I've never had any problems with it or it's reliability to maintain contact with the springs and not lose power to the board...

well ive had a couple of heavy duels with it already and had no issues with contacts. When i made the decision to go with the holder, i did test how good the holder was at securing the cells. Basically i had to use a thin plastic wedge to get them out. i could not do it by hand lol.

Hopefully this will be one of the ones that just works :) Thanks Ki-Adi

While it may work, it isn't the best.

That is the charger used by pretty much everyone so I am sure someone has used it that way.  I would never put Li Ions in a spring loaded battery holder.  If I were going to do so for any reason, I would use an external charger.  I would especially not then use them with a recharge port so I personally have no experience with it with that charger.  If you have any issues, they would be unlikely to be caused by the charger.

Fantastic video dude!!! I am in the midst of upgrading my MHS V2 with the PC and your tutorials really gave me more confidence in wiring the PC.

I also love the fact that your video must be one of the very few that actually shows off the swing sensitivity of the PC. It the sensitivity on default setting or did you increase it?

I was getting worried at one point because some reviews said they are comparable to MR boards but you video proves that they are as good as a US or even better.

How's the clash sensitivity when you whack the blade? I am worried that with the clash sensor on the sound board itself and so far down the hilt, it might be very hard to trigger the clash.

As for the led lighting up a little when your iron touches it, it happened to me too. I think it might have something to do with grounding but thanks again for the build log. Now I am inspired to do something similar.

When configured properly, they are better than ultrasound imo.  Having used that and a cf, the only time the pc isn't sensitive enough is during long spins obi-ani style.  If you do really long, hard spins though, you should be using a stunt.

well i have not received it in the post yet but i believe it is the standard charger yes.

Thanks mate. I'm glad that my learning experience is helping others.

I also love the fact that your video must be one of the very few that actually shows off the swing sensitivity of the PC. It the sensitivity on default setting or did you increase it?

I accidentally positioned the PC so that it is on its side rather than face up when i hold it. I think this affects the sensitivity a little and i have increased the default setting to 0.75 in that video.
You can see a couple of the swings at the end of the video don't register for this reason. I has since increased it to 0.85.

How's the clash sensitivity when you whack the blade? I am worried that with the clash sensor on the sound board itself and so far down the hilt, it might be very hard to trigger the clash.

My blade does not fit all the way into my emitter currently and requires a tiny but of sanding. but i have no sandpaper haha. So i am reluctant to hit it very hard or even at all as the vibrations could break something in its current position (only about 1cm in the emitter.) Clash sensitivity was poor when i first turned the saber on. but as people say, it does loosen up over time and im quite happy with it. once i sand the blade down i will test the sensitivity properly
