Sith Slayer (Anakin V2) by Lord Bane
« on: February 26, 2011, 09:04:51 PM »
This is my first custom saber that I have built from scratch. I was trying to convert an Anakin MR saber and botched it. So I decided to make an Anakin V2 saber and as I was building it, the saber kind of morphed into what I call "The Sith Slayer". It has a Seoul P4 red led, US 2.5 sound board, 3.7V Li-Ion rechargeable battery with recharge port and a hidden activation switch underneath the side rubber strip located at the side of the box. This saber is nicely weighted and feels really good in your hands. The Red is really bright and deep. The sound is loud and deep too.

Enjoy ;D

looks very bright. nice work. I'm not a big fan of the graflex look, but i really like this one. maybe it's been the blade color this whole time. lol

Very nice work. What clamp box is that, or how did you modify the old one?

Pass on what you have learned. Strength. Mastery. But weakness, folly, failure also. Yes, failure most of all. The greatest teacher, failure is. We are what they grow beyond. That is the true burden of all masters. ~Master Yoda~

That does look good  :o  Bravo, sir.

...I'm not a big fan of the graflex look, but i really like this one. maybe it's been the blade color this whole time. lol

Ironically enough, I started out with the same thoughts when I first came here.  I just couldn't stand the look of a graflex saber and other than staying true to the movies, could not see why anyone would want one.  Now that I've been here a while, I've come to really enjoy a good graflex and would love to have one from Master Yoda.  I think it has something to do with the simplicity of a graflex as there's no major design elements to take your breath away and no blinkies and greeblies to make you wonder "How did they do that."  But at a certain point, the simplicity is what it all comes back to, and then it takes on a new meaning and perspective is gained.  A graflex has a subtlety and appeal that grows on you and makes you covet what you once were unimpressed with.

At least for me anyways.  Results may vary of course.  Just thought it was neat to see someone new(er than me) with the same thoughts I had when I was new and to be able to look back and see how my thoughts and opinions have evolved.

It's kinda funny Oisse, I used my iphone4 under low light conditions.
To answer Sollus's question the box was two stand pieces from a Motorolla wireless headphone transmitter. Underneath the rubber piece on the left side is where the momentary is hidden. The top obviously is the pc card.

Thanks everyone, this saber is my baby. I've spent a lot of time on it.

This looks a lot like an Anakin design that I have had in mind for a long time.  It looks really nice!
