check also in the windows file explorer option that you don't have the "hide know extensions" thing checked. That creates confusing situations for the naming / file type.

I know it's been awhile since anyone has posted on this thread but I could use some help with this similar problem as well. I have created my first soundfont as .wav files which have worked fine on my CF 5 or PC-U. Now I'm having trouble converting it to .raw. I have someone helping me as my CF 4.x tester. When I converted them to .raw the first time they were playing back way to loud. I have had to go back and revise the volume three times already and still need to revise it again. Do the files really need to be that quiet? I feel like I am reducing them to a whisper. Is this correct or am I doing something wrong? Thanks everyone.

not sure what the problem is. Converting it to raw must sound exactly like the WAV.
CFv4 has a volume adjustment, it should be set so that you don't have saturation.

If you don't have the V4 with you, you'll have a hard time checking the volume. Still, I don't see a need for any volume adjustment for WAV to RAW conversion.

Huh, that's weird because this font is exceeding the ceiling of the amp and every other font on the saber (that was in. Raw to begin with) works fine.

please list fonts and post screen cap of waveforms to compare between "correct font" and "too loud font"

Hmm... that will be tough.  I don't think machinimax has the fonts that work.  He can post a cap of his too loud font, but everything that i got from madcow (shatterpoint, korriban, hero, calibrate) and everything on nova's cd#3 works fine.

Oh, and i'm out of town for the weekend so i can't do the caps till monday.

Like I said it sounds perfect on my CF 5 and Jm419 tried it on his PC-U and it worked fine as well. I'm probably doing something wrong when converting the files. Darth Xusia has a wav and raw version of the hum. He's taking a look at them.

I believe it is a format issue instead of volume. Perhaps Goldwave is not saving it as
.raw PCM unsigned but instead saving as .snd PCM signed. I ran into this issue when
I was converting poweron sounds for Novastar's Cd #3.

It will still play but it sounds really bad.
