First we really do not need to have this discussion again.  Second you do not want to know how much a smith puts into a build with labor and parts.  I promise I know not a single smith getting "rich" on doing sabers.

Second you guys are wrong...right from your point of view perhaps (for your own rationalization), but just wrong.

I am not saying I can or would ban anyone because it has nothing to do with me.  What erv does is erv's business and I don't know what he would do but I DO know he frowns heavily on scalping.

So yes you do have the right to sell for whatever you want to sell it for since its yours but you also have to accept the consequences that comes with it.

Just like if I have a fast car I should be able to drive it fast right?  Of course I can...but if I get caught I have to accept what will happen.

As someone who has watched dozens-to-hundreds of people  routinely lining up at the Apple store below my office in NYC, just to buy & resell (i.e. scalp) the latest iPhone or iPad when it is released (I know this because they are all of one ethnicity and all line up at the same time) perturbs me a great deal, but there is nothing I can do to stop the practice. It is a matter of supply and demand after all, but that does not make it "ethical" or "right". I don't presume to speak for MH, but I think he was trying to issue a warning to those who might follow this path when it comes to Erv's products. It is very clear how he (and Nova and others) feel about scalping.

We are a relatively small community of SW enthusiasts and should do what we can to remain as supportive of each other's efforts as we can IMHO, and behaviors that damage that sense of community should be discouraged. Yes, everyone is technically allowed to resell items in their possession for whatever fee is agreed upon by both parties, but I think we owe it to ourselves to be "fair" and "keepers of the peace" (if you're a Jedi that is lol ;)). That's just my 2¢

Honestly the scalping issue isn't really a problem anymore. I haven't seen it for a while and there have been boards to spare even lately. Erv did solve the scalper issue and the not enough boards issue at the same time. I say thank you Erv for putting all the work in and making so many boards for us recently :)

Yes, perhaps the age of the CF scalper is over. The last patch of toast sat on the shelf for a remarkable amount of time. I was very suprised.

All credit goes to Erv and his efforts, we all appreciate it!

If anybody thinks a CF goes up for sale and isn't noticed, checked, and cataloged you're mistaken.  People keep a very close eye on who is reselling CF's for more than they are generally purchased for, and Erv does indeed reserve the right to not sell to someone if he knows they have scalped CFs in the past unscrupulously.

If you picked one up for 200, selling it for 200 IMO is fine.  Picking one up for $175 and turning around offering it for $300+ will get you noticed.  And not in the good way  :D

The Man has done outstanding work on getting back into CF production for all us sheep.  That on top of all his personal household projects and his job.  Thanks Erv, for making much more available CF's for our little grubby hands  ;D

supply and demand WAS the issue with CF boards but as stated above its more or less over, in english pounds i pay around £106 including postage so if i had one to spare it would be that price plus recorded postage paypal fees and thats it ... anything else wouldn't be fair or right IMO.

I'd come to Australia to pick it up.  But my wife would kill me unless I took her and my son also.

I didn't scalp anything.  I offered at the same price everyone else paid.  I auctioned the saber and let the market decide it's value. ;)  I didn't set the starting point at $6000.00

Oh no no no, I didn't mean that at all. Wow, reading that back came out completely wrong. I meant that I could jokingly scalp mine for that. Wow, now I feel terrible. Enough jokes for me, especially at 1am. Sorry Wat :(

Oh and this is an item that would be worth traveling around the world for :)

I understood you were joking - I was just playing along.

If it was worth travelling around the world for, then why did I ship it to you - you could have avoided that messy problem with the shipping monkeys if you had come here to pick it up personally. ;D

Or even better, we could have both hunted down the shipping monkeys that had the nerve to touch the saber!!

Next time I'll just pick it up personally ;) seems a lot easier than how we did it :P
