I'd love to see reviews, thoughts, what you liked, what you didn't... things you'd like to tell people about your experience using the 2nd Sound Compendium for CF... although it's only JUST been shipped--at least from the U.S. (France will take longer).

Videos... text reviews... snapshots... whatever.  Although obviously videos usually tell a better story.

I think it would benefit new folks who plan to buy as well.  Although it's true that most anything you want to know is on the site link:

THANKS FOR ALL YOUR SUPPORT OVER THE PAST FEW WEEKS!! It's been astonishing to me how many have purchased the 2nd CD... and continue to purchase the first one!   I'm in the DIY saber community's debt.

I received my CD2 yesterday and spent some time exploring and loading up some fonts.
Initial reactions:
ResBlade is 10 out of 10. with the pitch shift properly tuned, it's an even better font.
Sidious great font. I still need to tune the config a bit, but it has a permanent home in Nihlilus
TFU starkiller was loaded into my JSS starkiller immediately. Excellent font Bin Adam and Novastar Kudos

I will post more as I explore all the content CD2 has to offer, and post a video here.

Just a quick note to say thanks again to Novastar for yet another mindblowing CD!!!   

...and special thanks to all those who contributed (you know who you are).   

The new original fonts are totally awesome!!!  (I especially love the Rain one, Lightwhip and Resblade!)   

...and the remastered fonts really capture the essence of the films (that is not to say that the first versions didnt...as I like to mix and match fonts from both CD's).  Just like the first CD, Novastar obviously put a lot of time and effort and it shows.  I was especially blown away by the remastered Episode V font....WOW!!!  I love that power on sound and the hum is awesome as well as the new blaster blocks, swings and clashes! 

(I am still trying to tweak my config files based on Novastars suggestions.  Any other suggestions would be much appreciated too).   

To anyone who has a CF saber and has not yet bought the 2nd CD...BUY IT!...BUY IT NOW!!!

In addition to the sound fonts, like the first CD it is also loaded with other goodies including Novastars funny videos!  (You have some real talent there Novastar!  Ha ha, I love your videos man!  Please continue to make more when you have time.

Thanks guys!  Oh, and don't be afraid to (later on) edit your posts and go into more detail + maybe make a video or what not.  I could really use the help.  I'm not trying to be "overly bold", but... really, not many actual TRUE reviews exist of my CDs.  Sure, we'll hear: "Love them!  Thanks!"... but that's about it.    Not saying everyone needs to review, but... it'd be great to see a few folks really go for it and point out flaws, great things, good things, and all that!

Finally... hmm... I want to (again?) apologize for EP II lightside.  It was the weakest font on there (due to the hum sound)... but--I don't seem to be able to do ANYTHING with that particular pitch of hum (which is as accurate to the film as I could get)... because it doesn't "sit well" with little tiny speakers.  Kind of a bummer.  So... yeah--my weak sauce font is Ep II lightside, lmao!!

EP II darkside might be a bit weird too... not 100% sure anymore...

As many already have read, I received my second CD, and I was very surpriced, by the extra's on it.

I have my second CF-saber, the Pro Quy from JQ, and I wanted him to sound differend.
Since I heared a lot about the changed versions of the EPISODES fonts, and the many Sith fonts, and other positive posts, I had to find out myself.
I can only say for now, that I have listened to the MP3 versions and they are  VERY good.

My 3 kids are having vacation from school now, so I spend a lot of time with them.
It's very hot here in Holland, so I just place a swimmingpool in my garden yesterday, and today we,... you may guess.

I have to make time to place all the sounds on my saber ones, just to listen what I like most for my Pro Qui, and how many MicroSD cards I need for other sounds to play with ones and a while.
When I've done that, yoo will here from me.
I also have to check those out on my Graflex, but the config files will be differend, also the LED is 45 while on my Pro Qui it's 70.
(So instead of a walking with a few Crystals, I'll end up with a nice small pack of Micro SD cards, marked for each of my sabers to carry around.)

Wow, excellent!  Thanks for doing that Shadeslinger.  Always looking for something to show people who are wanting to hear fonts in action .  Are you planning on doing a few more?

For the record... I didn't make those sounds--Ben Burtt did, heheh.    I just re-mixed them.  That really goes for *EVERY* SW sound font you hear out there, for the most part, including Madcow's, Judge's, Anatim's, etc.

Personally, I'm just glad that (overall?) most people haven't simply "rejected" anything new.  Meaning like ResBlade and Ancient Saber, etc.  After all... with 30+ years of people having "true" saber sounds programmed in... they are often unlikely to want to hear anything NEW!

Rezblade was the first font i really loved the first time i heard it in the youtube vid of occasus from VV and watched it again and again !
It was the combination of an great hilt with an great setting and an awesome font that has blown me away  ... and the pitch shifting has gave me the rest 

After my first experience with making  fonts for CF since lightsaw i know now how much work it is to get clean sounds and a lot of mixing to make an good font .
That was the complimet meant for 

The sounds for fonts are everywhere but to make an font of it is really a lot of work 

I tried to make an Blaster Core font from the movie District 9 but theres no chance to get an clear gunfire sound of the alien weapons because every time the main character shoots , he screams
like crazy and that makes 90 % not usable  but i dont give up and that means i need much more time time and time ^^

So thanks again for the awesome clear mixing of EPV remastered

I finally received the Second CD (as well as the third), and I love the work. I personally think Rainsizzle,TFU Starkiller, Thrasher and Resblade are the  "stars" of this CD. Some of the fonts are more "realistic" of what a light saber "SHOULD" sound like (Rainsizzle, EP III), and some are very creative takes on what a light saber CAN sound like (Thrasher, Plasma Blade, Killer Bee)

Whether or not you use some of the more "creative" fonts (Thrasher, Plasma Blade, etc) is a personal choice, but they (and all the additional tutorials you get) are well worth getting the CD it!
