nope the suggestion isn't stupid. It's just that it ends being wrong in a certain context you might not be aware of. Part of that is knowledge or experience in uber tiny small SMD parts, the way they are store and shipped etc.
CF would be a family velleman kit, the story would be SO different. And I would be even faster on my own to assemble them. SMD and thru holes designs are really different in many ways.
I'm not expecting everybody to know that, it's just that, at a certain point, it starts raining suggestions, and while they seem to bump on my (Blade Runner) Umbrella, I'm still sneezing and I have wet shoes. It uncomfortable.
I'm sure you see the point. It's not you being stupid. It's the process of accumulation of wrong suggestion.

LOL at the Jawas, indeed. Nice pick jango. People will soon start thinking I'm testing our mods, while this time no prohibited word was intended. I couldn't use elves since it was not matching our favorite them. Plus they live only in forests, big deal to get some CF soldered there.
Here ya go for V5...
Erv' brought you some fresh toasts from the Shire... I suppose darth frodo won't be long...

Noooooo don't try elves; some make good cookies [Keebler] but can't bake toast worth a dang, others can only make tea [Tetley], a few are too busy looking pretty and playing bows-and-arrows to work hard [LOTR], but most, while good craftsman, will only follow orders from a big jolly fella in a red suit...;-)...

some news about the hosting compagny. I reached a limit number of erroneous emails sent from my website. Basically, I'm almost sure :
- some websites / servers blacklist my host
- email to those server server bounce back
- my host get an error message and increase my spamming attitude O meter
- ends blocking my outgoing emails
- my host might have sent a email to my plecterlabs email... that is forwarded to yahoo... that blacklisted their server. I never got the error report. Chicken and egg.

I cleared & purged the outgoing emails queue (newsletter and order updates). Now I'm testing that it's working again. What I currently expect from the website is that customers are at least notified of a update of their order. With the growing number of subscription of the newsletter, plus some people actually never got it (ever despite of the proper subscription on their account), I'm sure I risk to win a spammer silver star in the future if I try to send more and more newsletter. Like when I clicked like 7 times on the button thinking it wasn't working at all (and flooded your mailbox, sorry).

This forum might be my customer's nest in the future. Subscribe to the main plecterlabs thread, you get notified, flawless victory.
 Smiley

sorry for the hassle.
Erv'

[ADD]
now I've unlocked the outgoing emails, and despite I've purged the queue, it seems that the newsletter is going out again... you might get some more flood in your inbox. Again, not my fault, sorry.

Sorry all these stupid issues keep happening Erv, I know it's gotta frustrate the snot right out of your nose!

Just wanted to chime in on your idea, I think posting your newsletter here in your own space each month would probably be LOADS easier on you and less of a headache for you.  You could always make a little note on your own homepage to check here for your newsletter or something.

Babbling, but wanted to say thanks again for your hard work and diligence!

It looks like you are on a shared hosting plan with ovh.net.

SORBS has you on the blacklist because it looks like they found a phishing site on one of your neighbors that resolves to the same ip.

I have ran into this same issue using shared servers over and over again. Eventually had to setup my own exchange server so i could email clients without interruption.

I just received the email that the CF is coming out on Oct 24. It says it was mailed out on Oct 8.

Erv, I hope you're able to resolve your site issues. Websites are fickle.

that's the point, it's been posted on time. Just blocked in the email outgoing server.

pneumo : thanks. Now I understand why I had a growing number of problems. Funny. It's since I moved to a new offer, more expensive, just before organizing the sale, and before I sent the newsletter. I supposed I'm on the same server as some spammers and I was moved there with the new offer. Great
I'll pass the info to the team. If they don't resolve this and ban their spammers, I'll have to move somewhere else. I see it's really hard to get out of SORBS, the provider has to ask. But since it's a share adress, I doubt it will happen. I need to be moved to another adress with another outgoing mail server.

No problem.

I don't know much about the hosting company but if they have mail servers on multiple blocks they may be able to move your mail server to a block that is not on a blacklist. The odds are though that being on shared server this kind of thing will pop up time and again. My company was using a shared for maybe 8 years and it happened probably 4 times.

Some hosting companies also offer higher priced plans that may guarantee you a separate mail server and if those plans fit the budget would probably solve your problems and avoid you having to move everything.

I also have just received the email form the 8th and the follow up email about people not getting the first email.

I think I'm going to cry. I just got the emails today letting me know the latest Crystal Focus Saber Core, the coolest saber board known to man which sells out in a matter of minutes, went on sale 5 days ago. I even had the money in time, I was just waiting for the release date.
I do want to make it absolutely clear though that I completely understand what happened Erv' & that you are in no way, shape or form responsible. It could have happened to anyone at any time, and often does from the sound of things!
On the up side 4 is my lucky number & I'm hoping that may work to my advantage when CF 4.4 is due for release.  Wink
