Ack! Completely missed this thread. Definitely want a Jade and maybe the DV6 and OBK1. I have to wait until next week though to make the deposit.

ok...got it...paul

I thought more people were up for these sabers, but so far only 14 people bought sabers...I need to get double that amount of people to get these runs started...does anyone know which other forums here on the FX-sabers board where more people are going to, that I could post a small thread to come over to this board to look at the project to see if they want to consider jumping into this?  any suggestions?

thanks

Maybe the For Sale forum? Technically, you're selling lightsabers, and it's a lightsaber selling sub-forum...unless there are other rules regarding pre-orders which I'm not aware of...

Good point, Goodman.  Randy, I've moved this thread here instead.  It'll get more exposure that way, plus it belongs here anyhow.

If its considered appropriate by the mods maybe you might put a reminder about the LS6 in the "Luke ROTJ V2" 'child board' of the "Saber Modifications and Customs" board...that way anyone looking for Luke ROTJs would know about it?

I'm in for an OBK1.

So does this come with a switch? Top post says yes, another post says no.

I'm confused.

An update on how many slot are left?

Korbanth said he would post when each model has sold out, and he hasn't posted that yet for any of the models, so I would assume they are all still available.

A cursory count shows that the OBK1 is the closest to being sold out, if not already...

Deposit sent.

As I noted on my payment, I do not wish pre-drilled holes for button, as I might want to relocate it.

I'm sure Korbanth will post a followup thread of what has sold out and who has paid their deposits.  Smiley

I'm debating getting a BK4 now.  Gotta check finances.  Want to have all of Obi-Wan Kenobi's sabers.

ok..to answer some questions and make some statements -

The default way the OWK1 would come is the hole drilled and the red button taped into place, so those who want to add electronics themselves later can make it a functioning button. The maker has made it pretty clear, that he cant accomodate special requests like me asking for one OWK1 to not be drilled for the button hole but do all the others...I can ask, but cant guarentee that...sorry about that.

So far, here is what has been ordered -

OWK1 - 11 - (I increased my order to 20 units)
BK4 - 12 - (I increased my order to 20 units)
DV6 - 6 of 10
LS6 - 7 of 10
JADE - 3  of 10

the 70 units have been ordered and paid for with my own cash reserves, and when they come in October time frame, I'll contact you for the rest of your order, and ask if you want weathering.  Some people will want me to send to someone for putting electronics in, thats fine..I'll ask where it goes.

if any unit above gets more attention, I can increase my run slightly to make sure everyone can get what they want, but I will eventually CLOSE the interest thread, but contact me if you need one.

Two other things - I still do have 4 OWK1 Phase sabers in hand ready to sell, these come with the blue light up PHASE blade and will light up with a flick of the red button, these are $385 which is less than the person who is making them and selling them on their site at $450 - one of the many benefits of being able to buy in bulk and there is no 2-3 month wait, I can send tommorrow if you paypal me at auctionmaster@cox.net now.

Thanks...I cant wait to get these cool items in stock, and they will not have any on/off switch, as whom ever puts electronics into them, will very likely provide that part too...these will look like normal sabers, just empty to accept your own electronics or leave them as a display piece.

If these could take 1" blades and had a larger ID you'd have a ton more interest I believe. Even at the expense of some accuracy, most folks around here prefer fx sabers over static props, or stunt sabers for that matter. A Crystal Focus is 1.2" wide, an Ultrasound is 1" and an MR board is .83". If you offered hilts of this quality that could accommodate soundboards, there'd be more interest.

Um... Jango, Vader's Vault and LDM are all working on conversion kits for these that will fit light and sound with a 3/4 inch blade... I also believe that Goodman is working on a version of a conversion that will change the blade to 1 inch as well as accommodating a soundboard.... So there is going to be plenty of options for people to have these sabers come to life....

I would agree with Hullbreach that there might be more interest.  I most likely wouldn't have gotten one anyway because of expenses but I immediately was turned off by the smaller blade and difficulty in adding sound.

Like me, most of us aren't experts like Jango and others.  We don't have the tools to make these conversions and don't have the extra money to pay a sabersmith for the conversion.

Sorry to get a bit off topic Korbanth but you were questioning why you don't have the response you thought you might.  This might be some of it.

All in good time, friends. With so many smiths working on potential kits, there's a good chance you'll have more options soon.

The important thing right now is pre-ordering  so the actual runs can move forward!
