Pre- EP1 where to start?
« on: June 28, 2009, 07:22:22 PM »
I am looking to start reading the history of the Jedi and Sith. There are just so many books. Where do I start? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jedi vs Sith - The Essential Guide to the Force is a very popular book and highly recommended.  Here's the thread here that discusses it:

Wow,where to begin.... Deffinatley the Darth Bane books. They go through and explain the whole "there areonly two Sith" thing and stuff. They are excellently written, and are my personal favorites. Excellent, excellent books.

What about the Brotherhood of the Sith? Didn't that allow for more then a master and apprentice?
Kun had what like 20 converted Jedi. I didn't read the book so I don't really know what happened. I read it in Wookieepedia.

Yep,read the Darth Bane books. He was the "Sith'ari," the one who would "Rise up and Destroy the Sith, but make them more powerful then ever."
He made the Rule of Two, because before that, two weak apprentices could gang up on a master, therefore causing a lose of Sith knowledge. With the Rule of Two, an Apprentice had to become stronger then the Master before they could turn on them and destroy them.
It's pretty awesome.

That's a very good book.
I haven't tried the Bane books yet, though.
KOTOR and KOTOR2 are awesome games, but, they might not give as much information.  ;) ;)

So then would the Darth Bane books be after the Sith war?

The first Bane book is pretty much the end of the last Sith VS Jedi war....
